Nurturing the Muse

Saturday, September 10, 2011. Caution: Possible Time Waster. On my daily visit to How About Orange. I found this new toy. It's called silkweave. And it lets you create interactive art that looks like silk fibers blowing in the wind. At first I just said, meh. But, I tell you, it is addictive. You drag your mouse around to get it going and you can even control which way it blows. If you scroll down, there are some wallpapers to have. That is where I got that pretty image up there. Nurturing the Muse: January 2010

http://nurturingthemuse.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 31, 2010. I have been in the house for two days because of the winter storm that passed by here. All my work and church services have been cancelled. Thankfully, we didn't get the ice accumulation that was expected so we didn't lose power. I have spent my time watching Hallmark movies, knitting, napping and finally, today, got into a little artwork. The fruits of my 'leisure'. Last weekend I had the p. Rivilege of attending knitting workshops with Jane Slicer Smith. This is the portrait t...

Saturday, August 21, 2010. Random Stuff - Mostly Art. I had an art party last weekend with a few of my friends. It was a sleepover. We had fun hanging out and chatting while playing with art stuff. Here's the table after everyone went home. Now, doesn't that look like fun. I felt like a ten year old girl coloring with her friends. We plan to make this a regular event. We all need it! Recently, following the lead of my friend. However, when I ordered Drawing Lab. This is partly to blame for my neglect of ...

The Lower End of Normal. Loving life in my own quirky way! Saturday, July 28, 2012. 5 minute Friday.on Saturday. The word for this week's 5 minute Friday. Here's my 5 minutes of unscripted free writing:. I remember sitting in my first grad class at Duke hearing about the cytochrome P450 system and. Was Completely. Amazed. Amazed by science yes, but more amazed by God. For example, you know how you hear about not drinking grapefruit juice when taking certain medicines? God gave each one of us our very own...

The Lower End of Normal. Loving life in my own quirky way! Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Working on a new look. Not sure I really like it but I've had so many technical difficulties this evening that I'm keeping it! The phrase "A New You" started appearing in my life about a month ago and keeps coming up in different ways. Of course it is almost a new year so maybe all of you keep seeing this phrase-now again here! Anyway, here goes to a new me-or at least an improved me as I continue to trade my ashes.

The Lower End of Normal. Loving life in my own quirky way! Monday, December 30, 2013. 10 Things I learned in December. Linking up with Emily Freeman. I spent an hour reading her list of things she learned over this past year and was laughing out loud at some of them. Also, her book A Million Little Ways. It is part of the spark that is burning in the creativity corner of my soul…a good burn. 2 I love, love, love writing goals for a New Year….and my year does not go well if I don't write them. 8 When your...

The Lower End of Normal. Loving life in my own quirky way! Wednesday, January 15, 2014. To Have a Sheep's Ears. It suddenly has implications you never even considered. It suddenly reminds you of small messages for the past 6 months that you pondered for a bit and then moved on to the next grassy area.
