Duffy Lake, snowy and slushy! February 21, 2014. I love to get at least one ski trip into Duffy Lake this time of year. Great destination in the summer as well. With the recent snow we’ve been getting it makes for a long approach, since you have to ski in the road (approximately 3 miles) then another 3-4 miles of trail. By the time we crossed it was starting to get dark, and we were really starting to feel the cold. JD suggested we make camp ASAP, rather then continue to the lake. Top Posts and Pages.

February 11, 2014. Mt Hood is an interesting mountain, the more time I spend on it the more I respect it. It’s accessibility from Timberline Lodge makes it an easy mountain to take for granted. There’s no long approach, no need to spend a day just to get to the base of the mountain. Park your car, start climbing and in a few hours you can find yourself in ice fields or on glaciers.
