The Flying Monks: December 2014
http://theflyingmonks.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 29, 2014. Once again we didn't get Christmas cards sent out. Sorry friends and family! Here are a few things we'll remember from 2014. Turned 5, learned to ride a bike, started kindergarten, and made lots of new friends. She is still our family artist and keeps us entertained. Turned 8, started 2nd grade, got baptized, learned to ride a bike, started ABA therapy, became a Cub Scout. He has had a tough year in some ways but continually shares his humor and intelligence with us. We definit...

The Flying Monks: May 2014
http://theflyingmonks.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 25, 2014. Falling down and stepping up. I'm home now after two weeks in the hospital and two surgeries. Here is my leg in a leg-motion-machine at the hospital to help bend my knee again. A few things I missed while in the hospital- here is what Clayton did when Bess asked him to smile for a picture:. Here are the kids at Tolmie park. The tide was really low and Brian was thrilled to find a dead crab. Clayton liked running 'on top of the water'. Not only is he doing all this extra work, gettin...

Farming Flowers
http://heathershomeandgarden.com/farming-flowers
August 4, 2015. As someone who claims to love plants as much as I do, it might be surprising to know that I didn’t really think about my wedding flowers until a couple weeks before the big day. There did end up being extra flowers, which we did end up using at the smores bar. Why didn’t I think of that earlier? Later that day I googled “flower farming” and stumbled across the Floret. What if I tried selling flowers at the farmers market? What if people by them? I don’t think there is anything quite...

Ginny of My Heart. My experience with a Trisomy 18 pregnancy. Jason gently washes Ginny after her birth. Her skin barely clings to her tiny body. She is precious. Ginny’s tiny fingers in Daddy’s hand. Our little girl Virginia Kae. She is so loved and missed. Mommy’s arms and heart are full. Wish they could stay that way. Lizzy did a wonderful job with Ginny. She wasn’t nervous at all, but happy to see and hold her. Liz loves her gift. Ginny’s first name comes as a variation on Grandma Virgie’s. I’m...

Paper Dresses: When you do more then pin →. My Favorite Crayon Color. July 29, 2014. I believe that the best colors are the ones that you can only use rarely. Those amazing colors that don’t make human sense but those are the ones that make us feel alive. One thought on “ My Favorite Crayon Color. July 29, 2014 at 4:36 am. So intrigued . . . now I need to see a picture of the color in question. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

The Flying Monks: Carnival and Campout
http://theflyingmonks.blogspot.com/2015/08/carnival-and-campout.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Annual visit to the county fair. Good times! The kids were pretty excited to ride some rides! Brian absolutely cannot resist the lure of carnival games. Despite umpteen-million times explaining that they are a scam. He kinda gets it, but he still thinks he can win. I let him play one game, of course he didn't win. Then he was devastated. Oh the joys of parenthood. It went back and forth inside the circle, then all the way around. He completely loved it! The kids loved this giant...

The Flying Monks: May 2015
http://theflyingmonks.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 30, 2015. Just posting some leftover photos and videos from my phone . . . Dory and the Eltons enjoying some of the leftover shades and slap bracelets from my 80's party. Andrew's dad came for a quick visit during his business trip. He brought the kids some awesome stuff from the dollar store in Canada! On Memorial Day Andrew wanted to do a practice triathlon, so we tagged along and the kids swam in the lake while he swam. It was a chilly, cloudy day but they had fun. We got the June Friend.

The Flying Monks: June 2015
http://theflyingmonks.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Last night Clayton and I went to the Seattle Symphony to see Fantasia! It was a wonderful evening. Here we are ready to go. I love Clayton's Fantasia tie and pin. I also didn't realize where our seats would be. The tickets I got were the cheapest kind, so I was expecting that we'd be super far away. We were in the front 1/3 of the audience! I'm so proud of him- he did not freak out or yell at people to be quiet. He totally handled it. I will never forget it. I would have had to yan...

My Favorite Crayon Color. Not just another Saturday: Pocatello Air Show →. Paper Dresses: When you do more then pin. July 31, 2014. Soon I’ll show you what the dresses look like as a garland. Instead of watching netflix all night, I decided to stop pinning things on pinterest and start making them. I drew all the dress designs myself, taking a lot of inspiration from Indian dresses (love Bollywood). One thought on “ Paper Dresses: When you do more then pin. August 1, 2014 at 2:30 pm.

Not just another Saturday: Pocatello Air Show. Jean Jacket Alteration →. Paper Dresses: All in a row now. August 10, 2014. All together there are 25 dresses. So this is the second half of my paper dress entry. I had always planned to put the dresses above my sewing machine. You can’t tell now because there is so much empty space between the garland and my table. So now I need to decide what to put in the middle. Some picture frames or some of my embroideries.
