Unfortunately we don’t have a fresh water non tidal venue here in Nelson so most of our sailing is carried out at one of two courses laid out at Monaco. We are hopefully that the Tahunanui Modellers Pond will be upgraded so its suitable for sailing model yachts in the near future. The Mariri Pond is on the coastal highway between Richmond and Motueka and is surrounded by the Eastons Loop Road.

Monaco Tides – Radio Yacht Squadron Nelson
https://radioyachtingnelson.com/monaco-tides
Radio Yacht Squadron Nelson. For all classes of RC yachts. Members of the NZ Radio Yachting Association. The most suitable days for sailing at Monaco. When the high tide exceeds 4.0m we can sail for approximately 1.25hrs before and after high tide at the Honest Lawyer launching site. Sailing from the Monaco Boat Club launching site suits most tides below, however this is a more exposed to the southerly wind and sheltered from the sea breeze until later.
