Running in a general election is expensive business. A basic properly run campaign costs thousands of euro. The Green Party is a voluntary grassroots party that doesn’t receive state funding and does not accept corporate donations. If I am to make any impact, I need supporters willing to help the cause. A small once-off donation will cover the costs of literature for a door-to-door canvass. A large once-off donations will help kick start the campaign or push it over the final line.
