Mrs Hancock's Class: October 2016
http://tokomrshancocksclass.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 11 October 2016. But perhaps the most interesting results were around the question about our blue rubbish bin. The question asked the children to estimate how many litres of water it would hold. There were many different answers but most children didn't know what one litre of water looked so had no way of working this out. Some had used what they knew of milk containers to guess, but most thought it probably held about 2 litres. After completing the maths trail I now have a good feel of what the...

Mrs Hancock's Class: Invitation Challenge
http://tokomrshancocksclass.blogspot.com/2016/11/invitation-challenge.html
Thursday, 17 November 2016. Our little garden and germination experiments have recently taken us off on another adventure. We have been looking at how much sugar is in foods, including our little garden vegetables. We have discussed how good vegetables are for us but that many children don't really like their taste. So we are going to try and hide vegetables in muffins! Clear font size and correct spelling. Correct details like when and where. Good colour and background choice. 18 November 2016 at 09:18.

Mrs Hancock's Class: August 2016
http://tokomrshancocksclass.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 16 August 2016. Learning about BIG Numbers. Today we started by looking at the Olympic Medal Tally. We noticed that for a small country, New Zealand was doing really well. Once we had completed the table it became apparent that most of the class were struggling to read these very large numbers. This prompted an impromptu lesson on reading big numbers. Thursday, 11 August 2016. It was a beautiful day yesterday when we went out to practice cross country with our mountain standing proud. We've crea...
