Chris's Bird Ringing: January 2012
http://traineebirdringing.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 25 January 2012. Traps bring 150th bird! In October 2011, (21st October to be exact), I ringed my first bird with my C Permit. A 3F Great tit was the culprit, caught in my. Trap on our bird table that Matt and I constructed. From that day my ringing career began as a lone C Permit ringer and it has been a great 3 months so far. I consider all my birds to have been caught in traps, e.g. Potter, Chardonneret. Spring and Drop trap, as well as hand catching and lamping. Bird, a retrap. I will hope...

Grampian Ringing Group: Leucistic Oystercatcher chick
http://grampianringing.blogspot.com/2015/07/leucistic-oystercatcher-chick.html
The website and blog of the Grampian Ringing Group. Thursday, 2 July 2015. On Friday 27 June Brian Pirie and I went to Hazlehead Academy to investigate a report of a possible albino oystercatcher chick. When we got there we found the bird was leucistic. Leucism affects the plumage of birds as they lack the pigment cells which are responsible for melanin production. Fawn colour on the normally black parts with a blue-grey eye. We would be pleased to have any sightings of this bird. 2 January 2016 at 06:45.

The website and blog of the Grampian Ringing Group. Tuesday, 18 February 2014. Waxwings on the move. We know it’s not a Waxwing winter when our friends in Orkney and Fair Isle haven’t ringed any. However, being the Waxwing capital of Britain (thanks to our location and large amount and variety of ornamental rowan trees and tree cotoneasters, well done the council!
