myshotsie: Heart Aching Euchairisteo
http://myshotsie.blogspot.com/2013/02/heart-aching-euchairisteo.html
Saturday, February 9, 2013. I am having a hard time breathing today. My heart is so broken. When a daughter calls full of apprehension, her heart resigned to the the hard possibilities. When this same sweet girl has gone through 3 years of struggle, diagnosed with MS, dreams dashed, struggling to hold on. It seems so unfair. Lord I am back and forth between resignation to your will and then standing in front of you challenging you to listen to act on her behalf! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Happil...

myshotsie: The Mystery of Strength
http://myshotsie.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-mystery-of-strength.html
Monday, January 19, 2015. The Mystery of Strength. As I have been thinking, fasting, praying this last week, these thoughts have begun to root in my heart. So often not what I perceive. In fact it is often the opposite. Waiting on the Lord. Putting off the old and Putting on the new. Submitting to the Lord's discipline. Forgetting what is behind and pressing into what is ahead. Trusting God, and releasing the things in my life I most love. The evidence of things hoped for. I am not making this up! My sta...

myshotsie: June 2011
http://myshotsie.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 20, 2011. I know we always say that "what a day" but today tops any that I had at work in the last few months. Simplex Grinnell annual alarm system inspection. Simplex Grinnell annual fire extiguishers inspection. The local fire marshalls annual inspection. Jim the electrician telling me that the magnetic fire doors that are broken are faulty wiring done by the the boiler installation crew. Still no fixed doors. Everyone waiting for someone else to fix the doors. NO ONE FIXING THE DOORS TODAY.

myshotsie: July 2010
http://myshotsie.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 25, 2010. Today was a beautiful day, the rain last night washed away the humidity and the skies have been bright blue and clear all day. Today Andrew preached an impacting message on the Holy Spirit, the kind of message that makes you long for the time you remember being close to Him and when you experienced His love and power. I want to be near to God like that again. Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Where does my help come from? You said ask and it shall be given to you. Seek and you will find.

Waiting Without Whining | Sam Dick
https://samdick.wordpress.com/2011/04/08/waiting-without-whining
Thoughts on mission, discipleship, and leadership. Our daughter Anastasia is 9 yrs old and our son Zachary is 7. People repeatedly ask: How are your kids doing? Often those same people are a little surprised to hear us respond; fine…we think. Here are some things I’m learning (caveat: I’m no parenting guru…this is our own experience and may not relate to yours):. 1 each kid is different. 2 enjoy, even laugh, at those interesting questions. 8211; can I have my lump removed too? 3 check in with them often.

The Final Lap | Sam Dick
https://samdick.wordpress.com/2011/05/11/the-final-lap
Thoughts on mission, discipleship, and leadership. We all come to the en. D of different chapters in life. Some endings are celebrated, like a long tenure in a job or a well-run marathon race. Other endings are dreaded, like an early end to a hockey team’s season in the playoffs or the end of a vacation. Whether one is looking forward to an ending or not, staying focused and finishing strong can be an elusive skill. This is my encouragement to you:. Don’t count the days. The desire to be home added to th...
