Up and down, rolling and running. New New Year’s Eve. January 1, 2015. For the last 15 years we have met up with friends for New Year’s Eve. Usually a lovely meal, plenty of nice wine, maybe a game or two then off to bed shortly after watching the fireworks on the telly. We thought about Allendale, watching the Health and Safety nightmare Tar Bar’ls. But we’d done that before and couldn’t easily think of somewhere to park for the night without causing problems. Up and down, rolling and running. I’m just a bloke who likes doing outdoory things with my family and friends. Latterly we’ve got into fell running and particularly longer distance challenges in the mountains. I was a keen cyclist as a child, enjoying the freedom and opportunities to explore that a bicycle gave me.
