Alley? | A garden and a library

https://postcardsfrommylivingroom.wordpress.com/2012/06/14/alley

A garden and a library. June 14, 2012. This week’s Trifecta challenge. Was to write between 33 and 333 words using the prompt “alley” and the definition:. 3: a narrow street; especially : a thoroughfare through the middle of a block giving access to the rear of lots or buildings. In the UK there are lots of regional variations on the word alley, so I thought I’d try and use as many as possible of these in my post. So many words to name a simple geographical entity. But is an alley all as it appears?

Three years in the making | A garden and a library

https://postcardsfrommylivingroom.wordpress.com/2012/06/09/three-years-in-the-making

A garden and a library. Three years in the making. June 9, 2012. Wales and Welsh and views of the mountains helped make me who I am – the sky made me yearn for freedom, and the sea gave it to me. I marvelled at the maternal instincts of the sheep in spring – now I don’t know why I was surprised by them. There was so much beauty in those fields. This was written for Trifextra: Week Twenty. This entry was posted in Faction. And tagged student days. 5 thoughts on “ Three years in the making. This was beauti...

Trifecta: Trifextra: Week Nineteen

http://www.trifectawritingchallenge.com/2012/06/trifextra-week-nineteen.html

Meet Your Fellow Trifectans. Friday, June 1, 2012. One of the things that we love most about editing Trifecta is the variety of responses we get to our prompts. This week's word decay. Again showed us how versatile our contributors are and as always, choosing our top three was no easy task. First place this week goes to Aidan Donnelley Rowley, over at. Tells of a man who 'waited and watched for things to decay'. It's dark and it's bleak, but it's powerfully and beautifully written. The man in the white c...

Postcards from Motherland

Tuesday, November 24, 2009. I have a sore throat and am feeling generally run-down, so I came home early from work today. I've come off a recent stretch of working an awful lot, and I'm grateful, in a way, for the little bug I'm fighting off: I think I need the down time. I wrote what follows in an email to a good friend of mine; I think it does a nice job of crystallizing what's up with me of late. Enjoy the cheater's blog entry! There are several other things that are treating me well these days, prima...

Postcards From My Guilt Trip | A mom's eye view from the corner of insanity and hilarity.

Get me outta here! Postcards From My Guilt Trip. A mom's eye view from the corner of insanity and hilarity. October 27, 2015. October 18, 2015. I have been living with my non-English speaking Korean in-laws since 2001. This was never the plan. After four years of covert dating and a less-than-parental-approved wedding, I anticipated seeing very little of my new in-laws. But as I soon learned (the hard way)real life is what happens when you are making other plans. If you consider possession 9/10. The size...

Postcards from my Life

Postcards from my Life. Unbeing dead isn't being alive. (e.e. cummings). Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Fight the War on Terror - for just 10 Bucks! We are saddened and shocked by the recent events here in Mali. In case you have not heard, five Europeans were kidnapped last month (a first), and one tragically lost his life when he resisted. One incident was in Hombori, a desert town in northeastern Mali, and the other in Timbuktu. Family. In 2006 there were 45,000 visitors, and each subsequent year the...

Postcards from my revolution. Revolu.tion] complete or marked change. My prayer for Jeff! Posted by Lisa Myers. February 10, 2014. Today I’ve had a rush of emotions as Jeff started his first day as the new campus pastor for RockHarbor Fullerton. As we head into this new season, I feel grateful for the ways that God showed Himself in leading Jeff to this role and our family to this new community. To say that I am ecstatic is an understatement! Lord, I pray that Jeff would lead with-. May he live a life th...

Postcards from Kathmandu, Nepal. IGWR – Nepal In Giving We Receive, an outreach of St Pauls in Beaconsfield, Western Australia. How can I help? Nothing can stop the light from getting through. Visit to Nepal Oct 2015. The images here taken off the roof of our hotel speak of life here in Kathmandu. There are so many clouds. A three week blockade by India has shut down the import of fuel, cooking gas and other essential supplies. We are only a day away from. And the Volunteers are bright sunshine here, giv...
