Postcards from Zambia: May 2011

http://postcardsfromzambia.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 11, 2011. The 7 Month Mark! Time is finally moving a bit faster and we have made it to 7 months in Zambia. It feels like quite an achievement as there have been days when I have started to think that I wasn’t going to make it even this far. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating Zambia or my placement, but it is challenging on a day to day basis and sometimes does get me down. Weekend treat: Homemade burger with a refreshing cider to. One of our office IGAs: The first of our vegetable gardens.

Postcards from Zambia: February 2012

http://postcardsfromzambia.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 29, 2012. From Livingstone to Lusaka. So the remainder of January was spent sorting our move out, only to have everything happen in the space of literally two weeks. A frantic two weeks! The car needed repairs, Selina (our cleaner) needed new work, Rambo needed a home, I had to work out a forward plan with my organisation and that was on top of packing and two trips to Lusaka (500km away) to move our stuff. Glad that’s all over! Mike and I with beautiful Victoria Falls behind us.

The ‘Runs Around’ to the back of the train. When we arrived for our train ride Mike and I found a red carpet and were presented with what we thought was a glass of sparkling but actually turned out to be apple juice. Postcards from Zambia: January 2011

http://postcardsfromzambia.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 30, 2011. Life in Zambia after (nearly) 4 months. It’s hard to believe, but we have now been in. For nearly 4 months; it feels much longer! I don’t say that in necessarily a bad way. I think that time just goes so much slower here and it does make me wonder what the next 20 months or so will be like. Since my last blog prior to Christmas, life has been relatively busy here with plenty of visitors, a trip to. Onset of wet season. Perhaps I should get the sadder events out of the way first.
