My Little Potted Garden: April 2015

http://mypottedgarden.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

My Little Potted Garden. Thursday, April 23, 2015. These kangkung was harvested a few weeks ago. I grew these Kangkung from seeds and they are really fast growing veggie. Harvested them in less than 60 days from date of sowing. Really easy to grow, as long as the soil is always damp, they will be happy. Quite a fair amount from one pot of container! And I thought that growing them in one container would not be enough! Makes a plateful of stir-fry for our dinner. Tender and tasty! Links to this post.

MY LITTLE GARDEN: December 2014

http://myemeraldgarden.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 29, 2014. It's 3 more days before New Year 2015! 2014 had so many ups and downs! All to be remembered, learned from and appreciated! I never really concentrated on the garden on the 1st half of the year. Nevertheless the garden plants and vegetables have survived well! Pest are doing a lot of damage when I turn my back. For 2014, snail was my biggest enemy! I have declare war with them. I can't tolerate and have peace with them. I hope 2015 bring more joy and Happiness to all of us!

I grew my potted chives from seeds and I started off with a packet of seeds which I bought off the rack from the supermarket. The amount of seeds from each packet is not much. And I have been buying and adding seeds to the same pot every now and then, because I want ed the pot to be full of chive plants! I have harvested the leaves many, many times over the years. My second pot of chi...

MY LITTLE GARDEN: November 2014

http://myemeraldgarden.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 27, 2014. Cucumber - another try. This is my another trial on cucumber. My previous plant died while bearing fruits. They wilted all of sudden and dry off. I uprooted some and found so many worms on their root. I guess they are some pest larva. I have seen a lot of Orange insect eating the leaves. I never really put attention on them as I thought the pest are just munching on the leaves. I think they have done enough damage to my plants with depositing their eggs in the soil. Rain brin...

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Very often the foliage plants are ignored as many look for blooming plants! However some foliage plants are really colourful and beautiful too. Dracaena is one of those which have beautiful foliage. The leaves are striking in green and red. Croton in striking red , yellow and green! Spider plants are beautiful too in green and white! Potager Y @ Japan

Vegetable gardening in Japan. We grow about 40 to 50 types of vegetables, and about 20 types of fruits in our potager-garden. This photo-blog represents an attempt to document the thrills and challenges of a 'student-gardener'. For me, it is 'heavenly' enough just to be able to connect with the soil and nature, and if we get to eat the fruits of our labor, it is but an added bonus. The potager and location.
