Nest: (n.) a place of rest, retreat, or lodging. Larr; Wesley Anne is Here! When Nobody Else Seems To Get It. February 2, 2012. So here’s what’s been on my mind lately. I’m still processing it so it’s not going to be delivered in a neat little package and I hope I don’t offend anyone. Awhile back I wrote a post. But our decision to cloth diaper saves us money, keeps the chemicals that are in disposables away from my precious baby, and is way less wasteful. These are just a couple examples of things t...

Nest: (n.) a place of rest, retreat, or lodging. Our Wedding, One Year Later. January 30, 2011. On the 17th, Wade and I celebrated our first anniversary. I can’t believe its been a whole year already! So we both got in some great girl and guy time, respectively, with our closest friends Friday night and Saturday morning/afternoon. Saturday night was the rehearsal and then instead of a traditional rehearsal dinner, we invited all the out-of-town guests to a big welcome party. This turned out to be a g...

How Do You Find the Line? | A Simple Nest

Nest: (n.) a place of rest, retreat, or lodging. Larr; Building a Family. From Atlanta to Africa and Back. How Do You Find the Line? August 25, 2011. Here’s something I’ve been wrestling with lately. How do you know when you’re in a season of waiting and you need to wait on God’s perfect timing and when you’re sinning by your inaction because you know you’re called to something else? Where is that line? So where’s the line? How do I know when to wait and when to move? August 26, 2011 at 9:14 am. It’...

Nest: (n.) a place of rest, retreat, or lodging. Larr; How Do You Find the Line? From Atlanta to Africa and Back. August 8, 2011. A week ago today, Wade and I got back from a 10 day trip to Africa. I won’t really go into all the details of the trip here, because we’re already doing that over at The Preston Experiment. This post will be about my personal experience with the transition on either end of the trip. How can I reconcile the life I live with the story I witnessed in Africa? Thanks for sharing th...

I’m still processing it so it’s not going to be delivered in a neat little package and I hope I don’t offend anyone. Awhile back I wrote a post. Its freaking hard. I live in a big city, I work in the corporate world, I go to a church with Bentleys in the parking lot, and most people I interact with don’t see things the way I do. I am so not mainstream. Nest: (n.) a place of rest, retreat, or lodging. June 22, 2010. Have you ever read a book that changed your life? A serious, for real change? I feel like people often say, “Oh I loved that book (or movie or whatever); it totally changed my life! On a trip to the bookstore one day I decided to pick up a book called Food Matters. Nest: (n.) a place of rest, retreat, or lodging. June 28, 2011. My sweet husband and mother-in-law gave me a sewing machine for my birthday. I have absolutely no clue how to sew but I really want to learn how and wanted a sewing machine. So I got one. Crap. Now what? I’ve pretty much decided to just jump in and learn as I go. So I needed something easy to start out with. How about a pillow? But did I make a normal pillow? No, I made a giant one. And Milly seems to approve! June 19, 2011. June 13, 2011.
