Morland: March 2008
http://rootoo.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 13, 2008. I Almost Don't Belive It. Well, it looks as if it's really happening this time: I just found out that Portishead is emerging from the depths with their (repeatedly) promised third album. While I won't say it about every band with the power to instantaneously take me back to my dorm-room years, I will say I'm excited to see what Portishead has up their sleeve. Afterall, I still listen to Dummy every now and again. But, 11 years is a long time: just look at poor Axl. It was the li...

Morland: January 2008
http://rootoo.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 18, 2008. So things at Morland have slowed down a bit. This blog was, ultimately, envisioned as a way to help me remember what I liked about different music shows that I was going to (those of you that know me well know I suffer from a TERRIBLE memory). After all, for the first half of 2007 it seemed as if I was going to a show at least once a week, sometimes more. I'll be seeing you there soon enough. My cat went blind. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Morland: You are the Northern Lights: Josh Ritter @ Webster Hall 11/9
http://rootoo.blogspot.com/2007/11/you-are-northern-lights-josh-ritter.html
Tuesday, November 27, 2007. You are the Northern Lights: Josh Ritter @ Webster Hall 11/9. And, let me tell you kids, Josh Ritter can rock! And it turns out his new album is. Rockin.or at least more so than I thought it was while listening to it over my head phones on the subway. Nothing like context to set one straight. Thanks to Kyle Dean Reinford on Flickr for the awesome shot. Please check out more of his shots from that night. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Morland: Roo turns 30. It's true.
http://rootoo.blogspot.com/2008/05/roo-turns-30-its-true.html
Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Roo turns 30. It's true. Robert Frost says: Time and tide wait for no man, but time always stands still for a woman of thirty. I say: Just because it’s standing still, doesn’t mean it has to be quiet! Music Starts at 8pm. Bring your earplugs, your liver, and your friends. After all, Frost also said that hell is a half-filled auditorium. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Am/fm - local music. Morland: September 2007
http://rootoo.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 21, 2007. For those that have been talking with me over the past, say, 2 years or so, you know that I've been at a loss for that "special place" I belong to in the quote-unquote real world. Through a roundabout link from my internet wanderings today (I won't divulge, as it would clearly demonstrate how painfully boring my morning has been) I discovered and completed the Career Quiz. At The Princeton Review. And, given this assessment, one of their suggestions? Tuesday, September 18, 2007.

Morland: February 2008
http://rootoo.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 25, 2008. An Appetite for Greater Things: the Coward Robert Ford. For whatever it's worth: I think Casey Affleck should have gotten the golden prize last night. I'm sure that Bardem was great in "No Country" (I have not seen NCFOM), but Affleck's performance in "Jesse James" was one of the best I've ever seen. Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Morland: June 2008
http://rootoo.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 2, 2008. New Album alert: Neil Halstead. I'm a bit slow hearing about this one. But I'm so excited I can barely stand it. He's also touring the States for the first time in forever this summer (supporting Jack Johnson) but unfortunately they appear to be all stadium shows. And the closest one to NYC is in Jersey. Ah well. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that he'll come through the City later in the year once his new album is out. Man What with Neil's new album coming out and Bob's.

Morland: April 2008
http://rootoo.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 9, 2008. People that know me well, or even slightly, also know that I love music and listen to it a lot. It's one of those aspects of my personality that I'm sure comes across very quickly. After all, I was one of those people that carried a stack of cd's and a player around with them at all times in the pre-iPod era. (God, I'm glad those days are behind me.). But now, there is a new blog on the NY Times, Measure for Measure. Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Beware the Ides of March. I have been ...

Morland: December 2007

Friday, December 14, 2007. Goin' Commerical: Bishop Allen Clicks with Sony. As readers probably already know, I am very fond of Bishop Allen and have really enjoyed seeing them get more attention recently. I'm of two minds about music being used in commercials these days, but when I saw a new Sony digital camera ad on TV last night featuring BA's Click Click Click Click I couldn't have been more chuffed. Tuesday, December 11, 2007. All Austen, All the Time! Monday, December 10, 2007. Last Friday, HT and ...
