8230; a perennial posting of pictures. Happy Fourth from beginning to end! July 5, 2015. I had the chance to watch the wonderful fireworks in Sausalito CA again this year. With the skyline of San Francisco in the background and the huge crowds of people clinging to the shoreline to watch the display, it made a pretty interesting scene. 8230; a perennial posting of pictures. I never quite feel satisfied, leaving a place when I have not gotten a photograph I like it always feels as if something is unfinished. This was my experience on a recent trip to Monterey, CA, until the very last moment as the sun was setting. Everything became still, except for the swirling tide. Several years ago, I did a photographic series of panned architectural structures in San Francisco, and is something I am re-visiting here in Charlotte. To me, panning is one way for to photographically depict the experience of looking all around me, and being fully immersed in a location. This photograph was taken in DuPont State Forest in North Carolina, laying flat with my camera on a rock at the base of a waterfall, with the water rushing beneath and around me! Originally from Great Britain, my training and education was in science. I realized, soon after finishing my degree, that I was really being pulled towards the creative sector and I began working as a graphic designer and jewelry artist.
