Musings of a Globe Jaunt. In Words and Polaroids. Laquo; Santiago de Chile. Snakefruit, Sambal and Sustainable Schooling: An Adventure in Bali. As I sit aboard the LAN flight to Easter Island, Chile, I marvel sadly at how little the world has changed, after all of its mistakes and pitfalls. The history of the island I am about to explore is tragic, marred by the depletion of natural resources, and further destruction of the population by warfare and culture clash with the. And onward we fly. The large st...

Musings of a Globe Jaunt. In Words and Polaroids. Laquo; A Desert Dream. Un lugar es un ciclo de lugares. Otros ambientes son irrelevantes. La distancia no existe. Y el sentido Occidental de la dirreción y el espacio se hace innecesario. A place is a series of places. Other areas are irrelevant. Distance does not exist. And the Western sense of space and residence becomes unnecessary. Am I in a completely different place? Do I have one? So, when we travel aren’t we really just entering an extension of.

Musings of a Globe Jaunt. In Words and Polaroids. Laquo; Isla de Pascua. Snakefruit, Sambal and Sustainable Schooling: An Adventure in Bali. The number one reason why I love Ubud and would in a moment move my life here is that I appreciate being able to walk up and down the street, alone if I chose, and smile without even a thought. Here, a smile is just a smile. Flower petals and rice, to large offerings of lavish fruits, meats, and flowers piled atop each other in a beautiful package. It is not rar...

A Few Favorites | Strange is our Situation

Strange is our Situation. New York wasn’t exactly my cup of tea. (It was always too hot for a cup of tea anyway.). I felt slightly spirit-less amid the buildings and the cement and the hustle and bustle. I missed the mountains, and the sun, and the fresh air off the ocean. That’s not to say that I didn’t love. So, here are a few of my favorite things from NYC:. Photo Credit Robert Leslie / TED). I literally get to watch TEDTalks all day. Pretty awesome. This was my desk:. How cool is that. 3) Pizza at 2AM.

Journey to Africa
Friday, November 13, 2009. So earlier this week, a group of us went sandboarding near the capital. Actually, they went sandboarding while Melissa and I watched. I didn't participate for a couple of reasons: First, I was wearing a skirt and that would just have been asking for trouble. :) Second, something about sliding down a huge hill on a piece of wood didn't really appeal to me. But, it was worth it to watch the others and to admire the beautiful scenery! Here are some pictures from the day! At least ...
