Wednesday, June 15, 2011. It’s the days where I see the reality that my daughter is getting a completely different experience of God in life than we had growing up that I start to get nervous. Should we join a group of people who meet in a building so that she gets the Sunday School experience? Am I doing a horrible job teaching her about Jesus because we don’t do things like prayer or Bible readings that often? How else would she learn about Jesus if we’re not doing those things? Thank you for Jesus.

Friday, September 2, 2011. We've been home a week and I'm still in "vacation mode." I had always heard that Mom's never really get to have a real vacation on family vacations - it's true. To make up for that my brain must have decided to check-out this week. That's what I'll tell myself anyway. We joined my husband's entire family in South Carolina for a week in an ocean front beach house. Elisabeth and her cousin, Taylor, made sure we were on the beach each morning by 8 am! Elisabeth's toes in the sand.

Thursday, October 27, 2011. It’s been a while since I posted anything. We have been so busy and I haven’t had time to think beyond what activity we’ll be doing next. Thankfully, October was full of beautiful weather that made it possible for us to enjoy every single weekend outdoors as a family. We went to the pumpkin patch. We process and weigh the options before making decisions (my husband more so than me – to him I sometimes seem like a “whim” kind of person! And she is a beautiful sight to behold! Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Wednesdays are my day to bake and clean the house. Today happened to be cookie making day for the Husband's lunches. Elisabeth loves. Watching as the cookie dough mixes. Elisabeth's favorite part is adding the chocolate chips! She held it so close like it was a dear thing. My happy little baker! Licking the beater clean. Yummy balls of dough waiting to bake. Delicious chocolate chip cookies! This is the recipe I grew up eating and now make for my family. Enjoy! 1 cup brown sugar.

Life in This Slow Lane. Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Robins in the Roses. There is a sweet Robin family who built their nest in my roses on the arbor. Again! The male looks like the same male as last year, but I don't really know if it's the same couple or no. I just like to think it is because that is what I want to believe about it! It didn't end well last year, sadly, and I am hoping this year they get to write a different ending to their story in the roses! I hold really still! Feed me Mama, feed me!
