In Pursuit of Art. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Lavender Fields of Provence. This painting was done in the studio from my studies of the Lavender Fields in Provence. The studies were painted while on a trip to Provence with a small group of art students and our celebrated teachers, Brigitte Curt and Jim Smth. In Pursuit of Art. Saturday, January 21, 2012. I have been doing some watercolors lately and this is one of my latest. It was done in a split complementary. Color scheme using Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna and Blues. Not using green for the trees was at first odd but it's a good practice to limit your colors in this way. Labels: watercolors on 300lb paper. In Pursuit of Art. Friday, August 10, 2012. This is a scene of the area around Bird Rock on the 17 mile drive at Pebble Beach. It was stared on site and finished in my studio. In Pursuit of Art. Friday, July 9, 2010. Celedon bowl with apples. This bowl is an antique Qing Dynasty bowl that we bought in Hong Kong. So, I'm very happy to have painted it. In Pursuit of Art. Sunday, February 26, 2012. Birches in the snow. Birches are wonderful to paint in watercolor. They usually turn out well even if you aren't a seasoned painter. I am trying to do a series of them because I love them so much. I had three beautiful birches in my front yard in my previous house.
