Sabine Lake fly and conventional tackle fishing reports and photos. Monday, February 26, 2007. Spent Saturday at the Houston Orvis store on Westheimer. As usual the fellows at the store were great. I got to visit and talk fishing with a lot of people. I talked so much I had a sore throat by the end of the day. I didn't fish Sunday, I had to make hay while the sun shines. The biggest part of the job is now behind me. A little back fill dirt and I can start to build the deck and and walk ways. Para; 6:42 PM.

Sabine Lake fly and conventional tackle fishing reports and photos. Sunday, December 17, 2006. Dale Beaty and I had a good outing this morning despite the heavy fog. We caught solid Speckled trout up to 19 inches along with a dozen rat reds and one 15 inch Flounder in the Sabine river today. We fished from 7:45am to 12:30pm. The bite just about stopped at 11:00am but we kept fishing any way and I caught the keeper flounder at 12:15pm. I was surprised that we didn't catch any slot Red fish? Para; 5:25 PM.

Beats me but another boat I was near said they had seen a few mixed in with the Specks but they weren't in our area in numbers. I'm sure they were around but maybe with another school of trout. Any way the fishing is wide open and the fish seem to be working all over the lake. Soft plastic is the most popular bait but top waters and crank baits are working to.
