Vermont Oracle: Spring Findings
http://vtoracle.blogspot.com/2008/02/it-was-beautiful-and-sunny-spring-day.html
Poetry, Memories, and Visions of Vermont. Then it hit me. The yellow-bellied sapsucker, a notorious member of the woodpecker family, had been tapping holes into this tree. It is a relatively uncommon bird, that bores into the bark of trees to emit their sap. This also attracts insects. The birds are ingesting high amounts of sugars and protiens; good things to eat after they've arrived from their migratory winter homes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Blogs, Blogs, Blogs. Vermont Bloggernaut/Frugal Woodchuck: April 2010
http://vermontbloggernaut.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 4, 2010. Think this is the earliest I've gotten the garden uncovered. Raked off/out all the leaves and dead plants from last year. Looks much nicer now. Air got into the soil and dried it out a bit. Could probably get away with putting some rutabaga seeds in the ground now, but don't want to push it. Don't care that much about having rutabagas sooner than fall anyways. Posted by Frugal Woodchuck. Friday, April 2, 2010. Note To Deb Markowitz- 2010 Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate. I felt b...

Vermont Oracle: Yes I am Thankful
http://vtoracle.blogspot.com/2009/01/yes-i-am-thankful.html
Poetry, Memories, and Visions of Vermont. Yes I am Thankful. Yesterday while I was intently mesmerized by the inauguration of 44th President of the United States of America I felt at peace. The peace of hope, resonated from Barack Obama's speech. I am truley proud to be an American. This day will forever remain in my heart and mind. At times it is all so overwhelming that it brings tears to my eyes. I am thankful. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Yes I am Thankful. Blogs, Blogs, Blogs.

Vermont Bloggernaut/Frugal Woodchuck: August 2009
http://vermontbloggernaut.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 23, 2009. So I went out in the woods the other day with an iron rake and some seeds. I had gotten a bunch of seed from X-mas tree shops this spring when it was half price, and had turnips and lettuce left over. Had myself a micro food plotting adventure. Posted by Frugal Woodchuck. Friday, August 21, 2009. Finally happened, seemed like it was inevitable. My garden got the late blight that's been going around Grand Isle County. Sprayed them with "organic" copper spray, delayed a bit.

Vermont Bloggernaut/Frugal Woodchuck: Best Shotless Hunt Ever
http://vermontbloggernaut.blogspot.com/2009/12/best-shotless-hunt-ever.html
Saturday, December 5, 2009. Best Shotless Hunt Ever. Went out duck hunting the other morning, it was a very foggy day, and calm. Warm though, not a bad day overall. After I got the dekes set, about 10 min before shooting time, I had two otters swim by the blind at about a hundred yards. They were diving for clams and then coming up and swimming on their backs.
