Tuesday, August 17, 2010. We got a bit of a respite from the twins names Heat and Humidity heat last week. While it was lovely to be without them, Summer has come back for one last round (hopefully, one last round because really I can't take any more of this sweltering punishment! However, Fall is in full force in the knitting world and what better way to realize it than to receive the new Rowan Fall magazine! The three stories in Rowan's 48th issue are Nomad. Sunday, August 01, 2010. Rosie's has been carrying yarns from Mountain Meadow Wool. For a little while now, so we were excited to see that Interweave Knits. RosieBlogs: Can We Also Have New England Weather?!?

http://www.rosieblogs.blogspot.com/2010/07/can-we-also-have-new-england-weather.html

Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Can We Also Have New England Weather? New England Knits has arrived! This book has been the talk of the knitting town for some time now, and now you can have your own copy! We tried to come up with a book review for it, but it's been reviewed so much since it was put on Amazon's pre-order list and buzz began on Ravelry that we'd rather link to one of those reviews. We'll just show you some pictures! The book has patterns that feature a few yarns we carry here in the shop:. The S...

RosieBlogs: Kate's Edelweiss Mittens

http://www.rosieblogs.blogspot.com/2008/06/kates-edelweiss-mittens.html

Monday, June 30, 2008. Ever since traveling to Switzerland last spring, I have had a little obsession with all things Edelweiss. I was able to quench my thirst a bit last winter with a bright red jacket adorned with Edelweiss ribbon. Without the perfect pair of matching mittens, though, the outfit was woefully incomplete. Enter a few skeins of O-Wool. For inspiration and the end result are the Edelweiss Mittens. If you, too, would like some Edelweiss in your life, download the free pattern here:. Would w...

RosieBlogs: Handwarmers for the Whole Family!

http://www.rosieblogs.blogspot.com/2009/01/handwarmers-for-whole-family.html

Thursday, January 01, 2009. Handwarmers for the Whole Family! I know, I know, it's the 6th, but I just got back from the annual Family-O-Rama. I was a bit busy in December, not only because it's the busiest retail season, but I also reneged on my promise not to knit for people this year. I conjured up these nifty handwarmers for every member of my family and I am happy to share them with you! I sized them from 6-12 months up to adult large and they are this month's Project of the Month! Too, too cute!

RosieBlogs: Dahlia

http://www.rosieblogs.blogspot.com/2008/10/dahlia.html

Wednesday, October 15, 2008. A few weeks ago we got Ella Rae Lace Merino. In at the shop in 4 saturated and varied colors. Jen immediately dove for "Primarys" - a skein containing every rainbow color under the sun. Armed with her very bright skein, she set forth with the task of coming up with a pattern that highlighted the sproing, drape, twist and saturation of the yarn. Yarn of the week. Must Have. That. Yarn! Great pattern, Jen! It really does make that variegated yarn look delightful. Love it! Is yo...

The Pattern Factory: August 2008

http://thepatternfactory.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

14 August, 2008. Umso what are you doing? I'm on my way to class. Why? Soumdo you, like, want to buy the Fibre Company distributorship? The Fibre Company. Do you want to buy the distributorship with me? Shut up. I have to go to class.". That was an approximation of the conversation I had with Kate back in April. She though I was messing with her. Sometimes at the shop we'll call each other with disguised voices and say things like, "Do you sell yellow yarn? How much does it cost? View my complete profile.

What's Robin Up To?: Day 14 - Chobe National Park

http://robineiseman.blogspot.com/2013/10/day-14-chobe-national-park.html

What's Robin Up To? Sunday, October 6, 2013. Day 14 - Chobe National Park. The main attraction today was an afternoon safari cruise on the Chobe river. Chobe is different from the other places we've been bc it is a national park and therefore we have no idea what we are going to see. With the private game reserve, they knew exactly what they had on the property. Here, there's no way of knowing what you're going to see. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. What's Robin Up To?: Day 11 (part 2) - Soweto

http://robineiseman.blogspot.com/2013/10/day-11-part-2-soweto.html

What's Robin Up To? Friday, October 4, 2013. Day 11 (part 2) - Soweto. We learned about the student protest on June 16, 1976 against apartheid and the forced teaching of Afrikaans in the schools and sparked a nationwide riot. This protest led to the innocent killing of over 200 children over the course of 4 months. We went to the Hector Pieterson Museum, which commemorates Hector Pieterson, a 12-year old boy who died during the initial protest. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

What's Robin Up To?: Day 10 - Entabeni Game Reserve

http://robineiseman.blogspot.com/2013/10/day-10-entabeni-game-reserve.html

What's Robin Up To? Thursday, October 3, 2013. Day 10 - Entabeni Game Reserve. Day #2 of waking up at 5:30am. You know I'm great company these days if I'm waking up so early! That almost killed me! Aside from the dips and curves, we flew over giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, impalas and more. Can you see it? It's the green in the shape of Africa! Had to be about 15 feet away, tops! Tried to get a pic but it didn't work out so well. What a majestic animal! After the lion left us, we met up with our other ...

What's Robin Up To?: Day 15 - Chobe National Park

http://robineiseman.blogspot.com/2013/10/day-15-chobe-national-park.html

What's Robin Up To? Monday, October 7, 2013. Day 15 - Chobe National Park. This morning we were up early for our last morning game drive. While I hate getting up so early, I also hate the idea that my vacation is almost over. Until then, I won't dwell on it. Back to the game drive report! We saw several herds of 10, with babies, either eating or walking or even swimming (! I didn't realize elephants could swim. At the end of the day we saw at least 30 elephants on one of the islands in the river....In ad...

What's Robin Up To?: March 2011

http://robineiseman.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

What's Robin Up To? Monday, March 28, 2011. I've been busy the past couple months with a number of projects. In January I went to the Vogue Knitting event in NYC and picked up this neat fishnet yarn. It's Flamenco from Trendsetter Yarns. I just "cast on" 10 stitches and knit it up in garter stitch. Fluff it out and you've got this neat ruffled, lacey scarf. These socks are a basic 3x1 rib in Jojoland's Melody. This is almost done now. I'm working on the border as we speak. The next pictures I'll ...View ...

Revenge: Reckoning | Loungekitten's Weblog

The truth is rarely pure and never simple. – Oscar Wilde. June 5, 2012. Reckoning is the season finale episode of the first season of. I really enjoyed the episode, and here are my thoughts on it:. Close-up of Emily’s eyes at the beginning of the episode: someone wears contact lenses! I was impressed with Daniel’s speed coming down stairs after Emily screamed. She was hardly finished screaming his name and he was on the landing of the stairs. Loved the dresses that Lydia wore in this episode. Poor Victor...

The Life of a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Day by day, delve into the life of a top heart surgeon in Seattle, Washington. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Last Day: Thursday, May 26 2011. I arrived in the OR as they were closing the patient up. They had bee able to successfully replace the valve and the patient was stable. When I walked in, Dr A told me to go look at the valve. To my surprise, a whole leaflet was missing! He gave this guy a 50% chance of mortality before the surgery due to the severity of his problems.
