In the 16 months that followed, she underwent several bouts of surgery, intensive radiotherapy and many cycles of chemotherapy. Throughout all of this, she displayed unshakeable courage and an unfailing sense of humour. Her ability to face difficulties head-on with such strength and grace taught us many things.
