CalmUnity Living: February 2013
http://calmunityliving.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 18, 2013. Patience, and cabin fever. The temperature outside is currently well below zero, it's late morning and the guy i share my room with just went to bed. there's two people in the kitchen, one in the shower, and the laundry machine has a line up. typical for a stat winter holiday, everyone is home and it's cold outside. so i sit at my computer and wait my turn for whichever becomes free next. A Lost Art: January 2011
http://lostartofwalking.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
The Niagara Escarpment is a beautiful, peaceful place to be. especially in the winter, and especially at night. for reasons yet unknown, my good homie Kevin and i only ever choose nights when it's well below freezing to head out long after midnight with our camera gear and tripods. Labels: The Bruce Trail. Walking in the snow. Last Trail Walk of 2010. I hit the homebase briefly after my midnight shift to switch out my backpack, then hit the path to catch the sunrise before it hid behind the clouds for th...

A Lost Art: Munzee Style..
http://lostartofwalking.blogspot.com/2013/03/munzee-style.html
As if i didn't have enough things to do, i picked up another GPS hunting game similar to Geocaching. Instead of finding containers and logbooks, you're finding little scanny codes. points instead of smiley faces. far less social and minimal creativity required, although still useful as a touring tool [locating some really sweet places to be! I don't think i'll ever get over real-life treasure hunt games, keep 'em comin'! March 12, 2013 at 11:21 PM. Thats real cool, Sadie. I may have to check it out.

A Lost Art: Snow Steppin'..
http://lostartofwalking.blogspot.com/2013/01/snow-steppin.html
Early january. it's been cold for a while, and we've finally had a couple days of thaw. i love walking in the winter, i'd say i hike more in the winter than any other season. i was feeling especially antsy today so i decided to hit the trail downtown to check up on a geocache. The path leads into centennial park, which in the past few years has become home to some community garden plots. i can't wait to see them again in the spring. got my mind workin' on what i have planned for the coming planti...

CalmUnity Living: March 2012
http://calmunityliving.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 12, 2012. Having a large community of people to pitch in on meals makes dinner time easier and more economical. but even as a group funds can be tight at times. this doesn't mean we have to go hungry, just be smarter about how food is distributed. As an example, i wanted to make a stew for dinner today, but only had enough meat and veggies to make dinner for 4-6. most times there are 6 to 8 people at the table, so in order to stretch the meal for a larger group, we had to get creative.
