Sage Alley

Monday, August 3, 2015. Our leftover tiles from the Little Stone House. We will also tile the sides and bottoms of the four cat doors. The floor will also be durable and infinitely cleanable. We are putting in either LVT or having the concrete floor stained and sealed. (We are awaiting quotes before we decide. We'd like to opt for the former and laminate, but we're financially constrained.). As I am writing this, the pen is much farther along. It's about halfway done, and it is huge. The pen is 24 x 64'!

Sage Alley: January 2014

http://www.sagealley.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 25, 2014. Update: Outside Kitty- OR- My First Adoption. This is the outside kitty from my last post. It turns out that, in my last post, I was wron g about a couple of things. I was wrong, for example, about the fac t that out side kitty was reverting to feral. She's very t ame, in fact, and I don't think she ac tually wanted. She did not leave once. In fact, she cried the whole time she was hunkere d down in that bed. We were able to make a room fo r her in our downstairs bathroom, and...

Sage Alley: June 2014

Sunday, June 1, 2014. Ready to Get a Little Personal. I have commented once or twice in the lifetime of this blog that I try to avoid getting too personal on my public blogs. Well, I think I'm ready to, mainly because it will explain the sporadic nature of my postings here. Truth is, I love this and my other blogs, and I feel terrible. When I can't share my photos, tips, and insights with my wonderful readers! My life's journey (and indeed those of my other family members! Finally, my little adoptee.

Sage Alley: Caring for a Pet Remotely

http://www.sagealley.blogspot.com/2015/05/caring-for-pet-remotely.html

Thursday, May 14, 2015. Caring for a Pet Remotely. At home, stating that when she takes Mama to stay with her, Mama hides a lot. This is someone we've trusted with Mom's pets for years, so I took what she said to heart. It has worked out fine. We are hoping that this situation will be remedied soon. I'm working with the nursing home to find out when Mom can go home, so we can get Mama on a more stable schedule with more company and more activity in her day. Most times, we're only gone 5-6 days, really.

Thursday, April 10, 2014. Frugal Project: Cat Toy Repair -and- A Quick Update. Spring is coming, finally! It's been a crazy, long Winter, and now that the weather's warming up, I'm sincerely hoping that Mother Nature has made up her mind. With Spring on its way in and the shock of my job loss behind me, I'm starting to feel a bit more alive, myself. For me, part of waking to Spring is getting old projects wrapped up. The first of these was to repair yet another. This toy, I decided I'd go ahead and fix it.

Sage Alley: October 2014

http://www.sagealley.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 22, 2014. I made these just last week, and I have to say that, although my boyfriend and I originally wrinkled our brows at the recipe, these tasted very, very good. I also learned that the recipes in the book I chose to use mostly only serve one person. (Well, that or we're not used to the portions recommended yet.) Next time, I will double the recipe. The recipe is very simple. In fact, I'm finding that most. When using any nuts or seeds as a base in a raw recipe, they must. Our raw ...

Principled Witchery: Scarcity...Or Opportunity?

http://pwitchery.blogspot.com/2015/07/scarcityor-opportunity.html

Saturday, July 4, 2015. Money is a sore topic for a lot of people, and it is particularly challenging for many Pagans. For me,. Money is an entity with whom I'm frequently locked in a complicated and often adversarial dance. I like having money. I don't feel the need to be filthy rich (though that would. Be nice,) but just to have enough and then a little more would be ideal. I frequently worry about whether there is enough, and this causes me to focus on money more than I feel I should be. Be in charge ...

Principled Witchery: Imbolc: Using the Deadfall

http://pwitchery.blogspot.com/2015/02/imbolc-using-deadfall.html

Sunday, February 1, 2015. Imbolc: Using the Deadfall. Wood for the hearth fire. Yesterday, my partner and I went out and cut some more firewood on my mom's property. She has a lot. We'll be able to keep the hearth warm for many winters to come. Yesterday's haul gave us a half a cord plus some! This was the perfect. I also observed, as we were clearing out the wood, that this particular clearing, overhung with yet more trees and branches, has a few wonderful stone shelves, which will be perfect. In additi...

Principled Witchery: Musings: The "G" Word

http://pwitchery.blogspot.com/2013/12/musings-g-word.html

Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Musings: The "G" Word. I used to be "one of. Pagans". You know the ones: Any mention of the "G word", and they bristle, get on their soapbox, or withdraw. "It's not a monotheistic world," they cry out! There's more than one religion! Why does one religion get to dominate everything! And so on. Yes. That used to be me, too. Then, I got a little older and a lot wiser, and I decided to work on deepening my relationship with the Creator. The words, and you know what? We may all emb...

Principled Witchery: Principled Notes

http://pwitchery.blogspot.com/2015/01/principled-notes.html

Friday, January 30, 2015. Shy" taken by me. I'm embarrassed to say that I have not been back to this blog in a while, because I lost my password. It took me a while to recover it, too. Oops! Nothing says "I am sidetracked" quite like that! Anyhow, I'm back for a quick update. I'm currently without a teacher, mentor, and group/Coven. I'm happy to say this is not. Due to negative circumstances- I'm now employed by my former Teacher, and it's going very well! One of those Paths. Indeed, I'm interested i...

Principled Witchery: Even if I don't Agree, I can't Condone Violence

http://pwitchery.blogspot.com/2015/04/even-if-i-dont-agree-i-cant-condone.html

Thursday, April 2, 2015. Even if I don't Agree, I can't Condone Violence. In light of this week's controversy. Over the enactment of the RFRA. In Indiana, I feel I need to say something. Happy that there has been so much blowback against this law and the way in which it has been enacted by businesses, I am not. A progressive value, and it will destroy our nation (or any. Nation in which it is allowed to flourish.). That said, I am not. Happy that this family had to close their business due to threats.

Principled Witchery: Welcoming Spring

http://pwitchery.blogspot.com/2014/04/welcoming-spring.html

Thursday, April 17, 2014. Chronologically, Spring has already been here for a little over a month. The world celebrated Ostara back around the 21st of March. I did not. I was not ready, and I was also elbow-deep in Earthly concerns. I also did not feel. It was really Spring yet. The weather was still settling, and we were still experiencing a lot of cold. I also think I was just not ready to move into Spring. It's Spring for me. Our garden went in just last week. Some plants are still. Regret that I miss...

Principled Witchery: Making Room in my Temple for Art

http://pwitchery.blogspot.com/2014/10/making-room-in-my-temple-for-art.html

Sunday, October 26, 2014. Making Room in my Temple for Art. Honey" necklace made by me. Honestly, there has always. Been room in my Temple for art! Lately, however, I have been on a real roll with my art. And about a week ago, I decided to open an Etsy shop,. I've been making art and crafting and selling my goods for almost a decade now, but previously, I have mixed the few dark pieces in with my other stuff. (In the past, I would never dare. Post any Occult art for sale and scare off "the regular folk!

Principled Witchery: Principled Notes

http://pwitchery.blogspot.com/2015/05/principled-notes.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2015. As with my other blogs, I like to just throw in an update from time to time, in between the more focused posts. You can think of these as little peeks behind the curtain. We are preparing to move to the country! We'll be keeping my current house and renting it out. I hope to sell it, eventually, but the market's not conducive right now. Bummer. At first, I was really mad- at the cats for not staying the heck off my altar (! I hope everyone is having a good Spring. I am looking ...
