Its an authentic castle, with the accouterments of a modern 4-star hotel! It was raining pretty hard by the time we got to Newgrange. Nevertheless, armed with leaky umbrellas, we made our way out to the Newgrange site. It was truly, in the words of the visitor center's greeter, "exhilarating.". What is for sure is that it is pre...

Tonight, Thursday, we started out with a nice Irish appetizer spread in the suite, as we looked out at the visitors in the garden: a bit of cheese, wine, and Jameson (for Dom). Around 8pm we headed out to dinner, to a place recommended by a women at Butler House. Our walk to Langton's. 160; . On our walk Cori got a bit of exercise lifting empty kegs. It is great. Nevertheless, armed with leaky umbrellas, we made our way out to the Newgrange site. It was truly, in the words of the visitor center's greeter, "exhilarating.". In the pictures below, you'll see the outside of Newgrange, as well as several satellite burial mounds and stone circles. Archaeologists are still unsure about the original purpose of Newgrange: Was it a tomb?
