A Blog Of Sarah K. Perkins. Why I Remain Catholic →. On The ADA Anniversary. July 22, 2015. This week (this upcoming Sunday) is the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). I’ve often wondered if the ADA creates more problems than it solves for some, if not all, people with disabilities. It helps A LOT, but it also causes a lot of headaches. Kind of like how birthday parties really aren’t for the people they’re throne for but for the people that go to them. It would be nearly impossible ...

A Blog Of Sarah K. Perkins. Why I Remain Catholic. August 5, 2015. You and I are very much alike, except for the Catholic thing, and the Cerebral Palsy thing. You know how you sometimes wonder if some people bother to think before they speak? I wonder the same thing about written comments too (much like the one above). It’s one of those. Um, thank you? Moments, for sure. You all have those, right? I don’t really consider myself to be a Catholic blogger. I am Catholic. Or Mac and Katherine. Call me overse...

A Blog Of Sarah K. Perkins. Needles, And Tape, And Meds, Oh My! August 12, 2015. I don’t remember getting my first AFOs. That’s how long I’ve worn at least one AFO. I’ve had periods where I’ve been completely AFO-free (high school and college mostly) but I’ve had some kind of bracing more than I’ve not had it. I owned shorts. I just never wore them. I always had at least one pair, just in case. In case of what? I’m not exactly sure, but they were there. A few years ago I started wearing shorts again....

A Blog Of Sarah K. Perkins. Newer posts →. Grad School: The Third Summer. September 21, 2016. This summer could have easily been titled the summer of my discontent, and school commitments played a big part in that, not just because it takes up a substantial portion of my summer either. Feb 26, 2014. Costco: A Lament Blog: A Resurrection. When Creighton Barrel and I signed on for Costco, I was excited. The bulk toilet paper! The samples of organic quinoa chips and skinny popcorn and meatballs! THE FAGE VANILLA GREEK YOGURT WAS GONE. Don't tell me you didn't get enough business out of it....

Do you like photography? For a few years as a young child, I lived in San Jacinto, California, near the Soboba Indian Reservation. I recall my strongest memory in that place at that time – how my mother refused to let me go see. Describes the places I played in, walked in, and explored as a child. I hiked upon the San Bernardino mountains that Ramona and Alessandro settled in, where Alessandro lost his mind. I’ve been to the vineyards and orange groves in Temecula. I had read.
