So, it was fitting that two years ago I changed the name of this blog to add “…or does she? 8221; Sorry for the time between posts too – life has gotten hectic for the good and bad. I went to Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute at the end of July and saw Dr. Jennifer Thorne. Loved her dry, sarcasm and humor. Jenn has Sarcoidosis…or does she? Just trying to figure it all out! It’s just scary. The stigma attached to the word infusion. I am picturing a chemo-like situation. It isn’t, necessarily, like that. I know. But I don’t. Usually, I am all for change. But sometimes, not so much. PS – Weening off prednisone cutting out sugar/eating healthy = NEVER EVER DO! March 20, 2014. Isn’t it typical? Anyway, change in meds again and I didn’t have a good reaction to it. At ALL. I guess I will see you in another 4 weeks.

Jenn has Sarcoidosis…or does she? Just trying to figure it all out! So, I finally saw my rheumatologist: she hadn’t put in for the Actemra yet. Because she needed to examine me first (she listened to my breathing – was that really worth delaying me by 3 weeks? The Retisert is my last resort. It’s two eye surgeries (one for each eye) where they insert an implant the size of a grain of rice into my eyeball (WHILE I AM OUT COLD! Sometimes, that’s just gotta be ok. And today, I am ok. I will sit with many other patients, most of them getting chemo. And hopefully, this will work this time. It’s a long time to sit there (3 hours or so depending on how long it takes them to find a vein) so I will bring my Surface Pro 3 and try to get some work done! April 28, 2015.
