Vivien Zepf: New Work - A Circle Study
http://sevenpinesdesigns.blogspot.com/2015/07/new-work-circle-study.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. New Work - A Circle Study. I'm playing with the organic circle idea that made its first appearance in Champagne Dance. Formerly titled Champagne Circles. Here's an 11.5" x 11.5" study. The orange strip is made of bits and pieces left over from Champagne Dance. I'm debating if I should call this Circle Study I. My son's suggestion is Cosmic Sunset. What do you think? I like your sons suggestion. Or use both of them, Circle Study! July 28, 2015 at 9:29 AM. New York, United States.

Vivien Zepf: April 2015
http://sevenpinesdesigns.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Coasters, Coasters, Coasters. I recently received some Transfer Artist Paper (TAP) to play with from C&T Publishing. The one criteria: make something for the home, as opposed to a piece of art. My idea: make coasters that look like my surface designed cloth, but actually made with TAP so they'd be water and stain-resistant. It would also keep my fabric available for fiber projects. The whole thing worked like a charm. Here's a quick look at the process:. TAP transfers on muslin.

Vivien Zepf: Social Media
http://sevenpinesdesigns.blogspot.com/2015/07/social-media.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Photo I posted recently on Instagram and Facebook. There are so many different ways to connect on the Internet that it's easy to get sucked into cyber space, trolling different sites. By the same token, it's hard to decide what to focus on and where to spend your time if you're using the net to keep an artistic presence. See my FB and Instagram posts and, therefore, don't want to see duplicates on my blog. Don't have a preference. What about blog content? I thoroughly enjoy readin...

Being green, crafty, and crunchy in college. Saturday, February 26, 2011. I took these pictures out at the Green Oaks Prairie Reserve in the fall of 2009. I've always loved trees against sky, and prairie grass against sky was fantastic! My crafty mom made me this bag for Christmas- just the right size for my laptop or a few school books. I love it ever so! Wednesday, February 23, 2011. I am fed up. Natural disasters, ridiculous politics, having a cold. So here is some hope! Read about it here. I was surp...

Plainclothes Politics: February 2009
http://plainclothespolitics.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 28, 2009. Here's a logic problem for you. So, here's a math/logic problem for you. If you were someone who was renting an apartment, but thinking about buying a house in a year or so, and a bunch of people you knew were giving you crap about not making that decision sooner, would you:. A) Bow to peer pressure. B) Start crying and tell them you just don't know what to do. C) Argue with them at the staff lunch table for half an hour and get nowhere. Friday, February 13, 2009. Congress wa...

Plainclothes Politics: January 2009
http://plainclothespolitics.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2009. Check it out at: http:/ www.bant-shirts.com/people-t-shirt.htm. Relaunch of Plainclothes Politics. With the birth of Insanitees, my new t-shirt side project, I want to redirect the purpose and focus of Plainclothes Politics. In the post-Bush era I'm hoping we will finally move beyond the increasingly boring anti-Bush and Obama-worshipping tees (as amusing as they were.) I want to review t-shirts I find related to political issues and current events. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Plainclothes Politics: Political Compass
http://plainclothespolitics.blogspot.com/2010/03/political-compass.html
Wednesday, March 24, 2010. So I found this fun website a long time ago, but rediscovered it today. It's called Political Compass. And through a short test, it purports to be able to measure where you fall politically on a grid representing both economic and social views. It is a fascinating website, and I highly recommend checking it out, even if just to take the test. Here is an excerpt from the site followed by my. Economic Left/Right: -4.38. Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.00. Im in the same gene...

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Obama is finally unable to hide his frustration. Obama losing his patience. Friday, February 26, 2010. What a time to decide to be fiscally responsible. Well, Bunning, where was your fiscal responsibility when you voted for the Iraq War? You choose NOW to suddenly decide $10 billion is worth filibustering over? Senators like you are why so many people are disgusted with Congress. Have a nice, relaxing, taxpayer-funded retirement you old fart. Thursday, February 25, 2010. So, he...
