Penny for your Thoughts: November 2014
http://pennylegionfamily.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 20, 2014. We had our first "big" snow the other day - almost 2 weeks before Thanksgiving! Even though it wasn't more than a few inches, the kids enjoyed getting out and playing in it. Sledding down our tiny hill, jumping on the trampoline, and throwing snowballs at one another. They had a great time! And then came inside and relaxed on the couch with daddy :-). So cool to see each of my kids learn to write (and later read). Thursday, November 13, 2014. Friday, November 7, 2014. The pat...

Ready for "International Talk-Like-A-Pirate Day" at school. And the obligatory "silly" picture that always follows! Sunday, September 21, 2014. Take Me Out to the Ballgame. The kids' school sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" this past week, so we all went together to watch the game and hang out. Laine and Mead enjoyed hanging out with their friends and teachers.

Friday, February 13, 2015. Playing in the Rain. We haven't had a lot of snow this winter, but we have had a lot of rain. The other day the kids just had to get out and play in it - they looked so cute, and they had a great time! Here's Cole and his best buddy at their Valentine's Day party. I told her mom that this could be their engagement picture - they're so cute! Tuesday, February 10, 2015. This year Laine was in a group that did "So Long Farewell" from The Sound of Music. Penny for your Thoughts: August 2015
http://pennylegionfamily.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2015. The kids have completed two weeks of school now, and here's their first day of school pictures. Laine and Mead go to school every morning - all-day school for both of them. Mead is in first grade. Laine is in third grade. Cole goes every afternoon to Junior Kindergarten. He was unburdened by a backpack this first morning when I took everyone's pictures! There was a fun welcome sign at the front entrance to the school this year. She's got her own cubby to put all her stuff in.

Penny for your Thoughts: Art Camp - Laine
http://pennylegionfamily.blogspot.com/2015/07/art-camp-laine.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. Art Camp - Laine. Laine went to art camp the week after Mead, and she also brought home some neat creations. A paper mache bunny and some thread woven nests. A stuffed paper cat, and a gumball machine showing lines of depth. So proud of Laine and all her creativity! Oh, and at some point that week we all dressed up like cows and went to Chick-fil-A for Cow Appreciation Day. This has been a fun annual tradition since Mead was a little baby! Penny for your Thoughts: Trip to the Zoo
http://pennylegionfamily.blogspot.com/2015/07/trip-to-zoo.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Trip to the Zoo. Nan came to visit last week while Penny was out of town, and we did several fun activities around town. First day trip was to the zoo - we got there in time to ride the carousel and pet the sting rays for free. Mead had a good time on the carousel, despite the zoned out face above. We also got to see the new polar bear exhibit - it opened earlier this summer. Super cool to watch him swimming and playing in the water with his red ball. Penny for your Thoughts.

Sharing our Light
Saturday, March 7, 2015. Hope in the Storm. Since my last post, I have completed treatment 3 and 4, and am preparing for treatment 5 this coming Monday. Treatment 3 was rough physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I've always had a pretty high pain tolerance, so I can take a lot, but I've learned that there is a limit for everything! I felt bad, there is no hiding that, but it wasn't HOW I felt so much as how LONG it lasted! I felt a new since of hope in being able to make it to the end!

Michigan, the Civil War, and Lewis Cass. June 29, 2011 by sharingourpast. Michigan, the Civil War, and Lewis Cass. An American flag was unfurled over the Board of Trade, a big building downtown, and the crowds went wild. Some said Cass was kind of a windbag, but isn’t that often a politician’s burden? In any case, I wondered why Michigan wanted to hear what General Cass had to say? In fact, there are 8 Cass counties in 8 states named for him, and many other landmarks as well. Why? So he ran for the U....
