Long Roads, Beautiful Trails. Monday, May 14, 2012. On Friday, we headed to my parents house for the weekend. We had a wonderful time and were so glad to spend some relaxing time together. Laura is a little monkey and climbs just about everything in sight! This rock-climbing wall was perfect for her:). She also got her face painted.a beautiful butterfly in a bunch of flowers. I also thought I would include this picture that Laura drew on our way to my parent's house. She has become quite the little a...

Long Roads, Beautiful Trails. Thursday, October 28, 2010. A visit to Missouri. Laura, Nana, and I took a trip to Missouri last month to visit my grandparents and aunt (Bob, Gigi, and Auntie to Laura). We had a great time and have tons of pictures to prove it! Auntie, Bob, and Gigi even made a playhouse for Laura out of an old refrigerator. Box It had a table and chair, a basket full of toys, curtains on the windows and even a sky light! Auntie is a recently retired librarian, so Laura has been stocked wi...

Long Roads, Beautiful Trails. Saturday, June 16, 2012. A Weekend in the Mountains. We recently took a trip to the mountains with our friends Carrie, Jeremy, and Colton. (Colton's little sister Caroline stayed home with her grandparents.) Carrie's parents have a vacation house there and were kind enough to let us all invade for the weekend. We had a great time. The weather was perfect (70s during the day and 50s at night) and the kids had so much fun! You might slip on the rocks! Nothing tastes better aft...

http://stephandshawn.blogspot.com/2012/06/happy-4th-birthday-laura.html
Long Roads, Beautiful Trails. Friday, June 1, 2012. Happy 4th Birthday, Laura! Last week we celebrated Laura's 4th birthday. It is hard to believe how big and old she is getting. She gets more mature every day and seems so much more like a kid now instead of a baby/toddler/preschooler. She is about 3 1/2 feet tall and is about 38 pounds. Her vocabulary is HUGE.tonight she told me that she had a "really good sense of smell! Where does she come up with this stuff? Happy Birthday, Laura! We went to Chuck E&...

Long Roads, Beautiful Trails. Monday, July 23, 2012. We had a great time with friends and family celebrating the 4th of July. I'll let the pictures tell the story. We started out at our town's Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration. They close the streets downtown and set up inflatables, games, and had a bike parade. Laura has gotten so brave! She had a blast going down this slide. Laura had a butterfly made by the clown and she waved it while waiting for the parade to start. We hope you all had a great day ...

Long Roads, Beautiful Trails. Monday, November 22, 2010. Gobble, Gobble, Gobble! Shawn, Nana, Granddad and I just had the privilege of watching Laura at her preschool's Thanksgiving Program. The 2 and 3 year olds sang five songs (none of which you could understand! We have been growing Laura's bangs out for several months now. She went to school tonight with a barrette in her hair to keep it out of her eyes, but somehow it disappeared before the program! The poor girl can barely see! Once we had been in ...

Long Roads, Beautiful Trails. Sunday, September 26, 2010. Labor Day with Nana and Granddad. We spent Labor Day weekend at the lake with Nana and Granddad and had a great time. I'll let the pictures tell the story. Laura loves to swim with her Nana. Just recently Laura has gotten brave enough to swim out to the rope and sit on the floater-things. When she gets back to shore, she has always has a huge smile on her face and is ready to do it "o moe dime! And help hold the fishing pole. On our last boat ride...
