Deep in the heart of Texas…. August 21, 2009. To celebrate Tim’s birthday, we took a huge family road-trip down to New Bruanfels. He wasn’t feeling good, but we still had lots of fun! Deep in the heart of Texas…. Archive for April, 2009. April 26, 2009. I’ve been living in our new house for the past two weeks, and I absolutely love it! Due to wedding craziness beyond my control, a big promotion to Library/Media Specialist at work, and a weekend of pre-marital counseling in Texarkana, the house had been sadly neglected. But its feeling more and more like home every day. Yesterday, Mom and I went on a curtain spree. We got curtains for every room in the house in one afternoon!

Deep in the heart of Texas…. Laquo; Little Victories. In which I feel very domestic…. November 9, 2009. It was another action-packed weekend in the McElhannon household! And I got to really use my new camera for the first time, which was lots of fun! On Saturday, I hosted a shower for my dear friend Katie, who will be getting married in less than two weeks! Thursday, July 23, 2009. Please excuse the graphic nature of this post. At approximately 3:30 this afternoon Benjamin was sitting on my lap after his nap when he turned around and said "go poo poo" after he said it a couple more times I decided to take him up stairs to see if he was serious. HE WAS! I sat him on the toilet told him to go poo poo and after just a minute he pooped! I haven't been so excited in a long time! Who knows whether it will ever happen again, I can only hope! Or ever 1 and a half!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Only 4 months 1 week and 2 days to go! How did that happen! First Thanksgiving came, before i knew it Christmas had come and gone, next Benjamin will be turning TWO, and then the wedding! Let the craziness begin! Anyway, here are some pictures from Christmas time. Sorry they are so late. Benjamin wasnt anymore impressed with Santa this year than he was last year. Decorating the gingerbread train. Monday, December 7, 2009. I have finally started to adapt to the nocturnal lifestyle, which seems to be required for my new job. We are there til midnight or 1 AM most nights. Its also been hard trying to get things done during the day before going to work at night. Slowly but surely I am getting used to it. I'm just so thankful to finally be working! Tuesday, December 1, 2009. November was a crazy month for us. First was my 21st birthday which was wonderful! The same day I also accepted a job at Bed Bath and Beyond. Ive been working there now for 2 weeks and it is going very well! He has been limping around pretty pathetically and is soaking up all the sympathy he can get. Wednesday, February 3, 2010. While everyone else in Hampton Roads was excited about the big snow storm Benjamin was recovering from a virus. And the last few days of it were definitely the worst! I think that children get sick every so often just to remind us how wonderful they are when they are not. Benjamin has been sick only a few times and I am very thankful! Kimber was glued to Ben's side while he was under the weather. My lap was quite full with a baby and a dog. Making his first snowman.

Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Meet the Newest Member of Our Family. Hasnt even had an accident in the house! I know now that i've said that im sure he will. I couldn't have asked for a better puppy for Ben. They love each other so much! Ben likes to read him books, take him on walks around the living room, and watch him eat. Which could be scary. lets hope he has a few more brain cells than Gabe. Riding home from a check up at the vet. He's been christened. Ben dropped half of his yogurt on his head.

Monday, September 28, 2009. On the Road Again. I think Benjamin has traveled more in the last 18 months than most people probably have in a lifetime! Two trips to New York, several trips to North Carolina, one trip to Pennsylvania, one trip to South Carolina, and we just got back from his fourth trip to Connecticut! Thursday, March 4, 2010. Everyone needs a whole week to celebrate their birthday right? Benjamin started his birthday week with an impromptu party at Hallmark, of course. There were balloons, a present, story time, and a bunch of Benjamin's favorite people. He doesnt look very excited in this picture but trust me he was. Reading books with Grandma. Monday, April 27, 2009. This past weekend I took a trip to CT for Tony's class Ring Dance. Little did I know that I would be getting a ring of my very own. That's right! Tony proposed Friday night. Here's the story as best as I can remember for now, I might still be in shock. He said all kinds of wonderful mushy stuff like "I love you, I want to be with you forever, Will you marry me?
