She is particularly interested in reinventing old, unloved, often discarded items. From a Victorian iron back chaise longue to an original Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair, she breathes new life into each piece using decadent fabrics and traditional techniques. Esther left her job with the NHS to retrain as an upholsterer and has since completed three years of training in both traditional and modern upholstery at the Cass (The Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design), receiving an award from the Worshipful Company of Upholders. Esther now takes on commission work, which to date has included both domestic and commercial work, with a slight leaning towards the mid 20th Century and a challenge!
