A Font at Kilriffet. July 6, 2014. A Font at Kilriffet. In a field, owned by Mr John Mackey, in the townland of Kilriffet, about two miles south of Nenagh is a large irregular boulder with a mortise cut into its upper surface. The cavity or mortise is neatly executed and measures 85 cms long, 13cms deep. Placed inside the mortise are ten oval ‘water-rolled’ stones, roughly similar in size, each measuring about 15 cms, around its narrowest circumference? What of the story of this monument?

The Kennedys of Dolla. March 2, 2014. William Kennedy was appointed as sub-postmaster on March 1. 1895, the post offce prior to that had been run by John Ryan, in what is now the Eagles Nest. Upon his death, his son John took over in 1908, Willie took over in 1911 after John had died, and another brother Jim (the Doctor) was postman. Hanora Kennedy and Nonie were in turn postmistresses.
