QueerJoe's Knitting Blog: Healthy Opposition or Hater?
http://queerjoe.blogspot.com/2015/07/healthy-opposition-or-hater.html
A listing of all my many adventures and misadventures in this passion that has overtaken me since I was 25 years old. knitting. Monday, July 27, 2015. Healthy Opposition or Hater? It's been truly eye-opening as I expanded my friends on Facebook that there are many more haters than I would have thought, who were willing to accept my friend request. To be clear, opposition to the ideas of progressives, liberals, the President, etc. are healthy and I am open to listening to what they have to say. You think ...

A listing of all my many adventures and misadventures in this passion that has overtaken me since I was 25 years old. knitting. Thursday, January 03, 2013. Annual Hit Whore Post. Most QueerJoe readers know that he gains a lot of his self-esteem from the number of hits to his blog, and what better way of attracting hits, than by posting words related to pornography? Banging sheep.think this hot shirtless man could do a free video? I don't really have a revealing photo for that. This project really require...

Acts of Knitting and Nerdery. The Infamous Lacy Mink Sweater. I spent a day at Stitches Midwest this summer. It was my first yarn convention. It was okay. Yes, I bought some yarn (though not that much, only three skeins), and some stitch markers. I really did not go crazy. I don’t have much to say about it, other than it was a lot of yarn in a big fluorescent-lit warehouse convention center type place. I did not make the space lamprey sweater. I did make the Lush and Lacy Trapeze. Black Friday Cherry Bomb.

QueerJoe's Knitting Blog: Men Who Crochet
http://queerjoe.blogspot.com/2015/08/men-who-crochet.html
A listing of all my many adventures and misadventures in this passion that has overtaken me since I was 25 years old. knitting. Monday, August 03, 2015. Honestly, I've always thought the crochet world had a large number of strange people in it (me included). When you look at the world of male crocheters, it can sometimes be even more odd. They need a similar movie for crocheters or crochet designers perhaps. Fortunately, I fit right in with this community and I'm proud to say so! This last photo reminds ...

QueerJoe's Knitting Blog: Emoticons
http://queerjoe.blogspot.com/2013/06/emoticons.html
A listing of all my many adventures and misadventures in this passion that has overtaken me since I was 25 years old. knitting. Thursday, June 13, 2013. Here comes another opportunity for QueerJoe to be judgmental and insulting. I think emoticons are ridiculous and are only used by lazy people who don't care to think enough to write/text what they really feel. Now that emoticons have become ubiquitous, even in business settings, I think standards of etiquette need to be put in place as well. If you're go...

A listing of all my many adventures and misadventures in this passion that has overtaken me since I was 25 years old. knitting. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Growing Up Less Than. If you wanted to really screw up your children, you'd convey constant messages to them that who they were, wasn't okay. A Lifetime of Self-Loathing. I was reminded of the impact of this in a great documentary on HBO Sports, called Back On Board: Greg Louganis. It also reminded me of the shameful way we treat our LGBT youth and how...

Acts of Knitting and Nerdery. More Stir Crazy Yarn Dyeing Nonsense. I’m still under Black Friday’s thumb, so on Saturday I dyed more yarn. I haven’t made much progress on my current knitting project since Black Friday is a needy little bitch. Dyeing is much less demanding, only needing attention in short bursts. This time out, my friend Maarit picked peach mango. Amy asked for grape. And I wanted teal, which I figured that I could get out of a combo of mixed berry and a teal egg tablet.

Acts of Knitting and Nerdery. Black Friday Cherry Bomb. For me, Black Friday isn’t just a single bargain basement shopping day – it’s more like 30 days of house arrest with a colicky baby. I’m more or less trapped at home by Black Friday, and since I’m going a bit stir crazy (with 19 more days to go), I’m doing whatever I can to keep myself entertained. And do you know what I find entertaining? DYEING YARN. Who’da thunk it, right? Finally happy with the result, I set it up on the rack to dry. And once it...
