Bowaters (ish) in 009: January 2010
http://bowaters009.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Bowaters (ish) in 009. Tuesday, 19 January 2010. My main concern with this layout was not to get trapped by over enthusiastic attention to the prototype line. Rather, to just establish in model form, hopefully the very essence of this grimy industrial concern. . Please excuse the poor diagram. Its a functional, yet ugly hotch potch of photoshop and of the baseboard itself (in striking gloss blue, as its recycled ply). At least you'll be able to see what is intended. Bowaters (ish) in 009. Thursday, 14 January 2010. This is my rendition of the Bowaters 0-4-0 fireless loco 'Victor. It is a still available Whitemetal Kit by Golden Arrow. Http:/ www.goldenarrow.me.uk/services.htm. Its designed to go on either of two chassis, both now defunct. One being the Bachmann dockside shunter 0-4-0, the other the infamous Ibertren 'cuckoo' 0-4-0. With both chassis, they are employed backwards, as on the prototype, the cylinders were reversed. Bowaters (ish) in 009. Wednesday, 6 January 2010. Another reason I wanted to model this line is that I felt another welsh themed 009 slate layout was not how I wanted to begin modelling in this scale. . I may one day so, but I wanted to make an impression if I could. Images to follow. . Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My other blog;. Http:/ bertslocopainting.blogspot.com/. heritage railways uk: English narrow gauge renaisscence
http://heritagerailwaysuk.blogspot.com/2007/05/english-narrow-gauge-renaisscence.html
Saturday, 19 May 2007. English narrow gauge renaisscence. Woody Bay, 1980 and 2006. The English narrow gauge railway is on its way back - and about time! There were (I think! Five English public narrow gauge lines - the Lynton and Barnstaple,. Rye and Camber,. Leek and Manifold,. I'm not counting the Ravenglass and Eskdale. And Romney, Hythe Dymchurch. As they are 15" gauge and still very much with us! It was probably England's favourite line. And yes, I know there are/were other English NG lines. Vo...
