Something Beautiful

The Year that changed it all. On January 1st of 2013 Justin and I announced that we were opening ourselves up to adoption. Just 11 days later we were in touch with a woman who was looking for someone else to raise her baby. 3 days after that Baby A was born and the next day we learned we wouldn't be bringing her home. We didn't know it yet, but although we weren't bringing that baby girl home, we'd be bringing a baby home in 2013. We learned we were pregnant with Easton just a month and a half later.

Something Beautiful: October 2013

http://www.somethingbeautifuloutofus.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Easton is 82 days old! Weight: 6 lbs 15.5oz. Gestational Age: 39 weeks 1 day. Sorry I'm so behind on the blog post. It's been a rough week. Easton is doing fine. There is nothing wrong with him, at all. He's 100 % healthy, EXCEPT, his brain isn't mature enough to remind him to breathe all the time. No, then it was self recovered and doesn't count. But wait, how low did his heart rate go? Below 60, oh then that counts. Over 80? Then it doesn't count, but wait! Did his breathing look apneic? Please pray fo...

Eye of the Tiger. Easton is 18 days old! Weight: 2 lbs 6.1 oz (Up a few ounces! Gestational age: 30 weeks today. Feedings: 23 mL over 2 hours. Today when I got to the NICU and picked Easton up out of the incubator so I could Kangaroo with him I almost didn't recognize him. He only gained 15 grams from yesterday, but that made all the difference. His cheeks have filled out and he's getting some meat on his bones. We are so thrilled with his newly acquired ounces! I posted this quote on my FB page last nig...

Something Beautiful: Finding our Routine

http://www.somethingbeautifuloutofus.blogspot.com/2013/11/finding-our-routine.html

We have been at home for a week and a half. It's almost surreal. Sometimes I just sit and stare at him. Is that my baby? The one Justin and I dreamed about for years? Is he finally home? On Friday after bringing him home on Wednesday, we took E to his first pedi appointment. Everything went well, he'd gained weight in the 2 days since we brought him home. She didn't think Reflux meds were necessary because he wasn't fussy or losing weight. No contact with people who are or have been sick or have been aro...

Something Beautiful: May 2013

My how things have changed since my last blog. I can't read it to be honest. It's still too fresh. But wow, what a new perspective I have. Today, omeone at work told me, "Happy First Mothers Day! Those who have never felt the sting of infertility might not understand why it hurts so bad. But when all you want on a daily basis is to be a Mother, the very day celebrating them, reminds you of what you are not. Happy Mothers Day from me and Peanut. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Spark-lings: The Infertility Battle Begins

http://spark-lings.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-infertility-battle-begins.html

Our Special Journey with Infertility. Monday, May 12, 2014. The Infertility Battle Begins. Today was a BIG day! Ok it wasn't really big. but it was big to me! They just automatically marked me as fat and moved on. This gave me the courage to make that phone call for an appointment. Today, I saw the doctor and lets just say he surpassed my expectations. He brought up my weight one time and it was only once I brought it up. He was not cruel or rude. Concerned, yes, but never rude! I told him what all I had...

Our Special Journey with Infertility. Monday, February 17, 2014. I am going to attempt to give you a very brief background story on us to kind of catch you up to where we are today. This is my husband. John. Sometimes referred to as Sparky, Sparkles, Sparkalina (reserved strictly for fights), and just about any other name you can think of by butchering our last name Sparkman! He is very openly a nerd! He loves disc golf, people, comics, cartoons, music, and his drums! It was not pretty! My hair was dirty...

Spark-lings: The best post I've made so far!

http://spark-lings.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-best-post-i-made-so-far.html

Our Special Journey with Infertility. Wednesday, September 3, 2014. The best post Ive made so far! We did our third round of clomid this month! I am proud to say. it worked! I treated this cycle completely different than the many cycles before. I realized last month that charting and opks made more stressed out! I tracked nothing this month! I didn't take my temperature or attempt to track my cycle in anyway. I just went with the flow. I wasn't about to waste it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Aweso...

http://spark-lings.blogspot.com/2014/06/clomid-wars.html

Our Special Journey with Infertility. Tuesday, June 3, 2014. The title may have been a spin on Star Wars Clone Wars? I am a nerd! After some careful thought and praying John and I decided to hold of on the HSG and other tests. Out of pocket these tests will cost us between $400 and $600. We considered dipping into our savings to cover this (since that price range is about the same as our rent! But decided last minute to cancel! His advice was pretty straight forward.
