A blog that got hijacked by a horse. An update on clicker training. Once Drifter was back to the usual summer turnout pattern (3pm-8am) we no longer had the problem of him being more interested in a haynet than me. I bring him in to ride, clicker train afterwards and then turn out again. This works well. I think I feel more vulnerable in that sense because no one else does anything at liberty and if I see anyone else doing any groundwork it usually means the vet or physio ordered it. What do you think?

A blog that got hijacked by a horse. A few weeks ago, before Drifter got sore, we had a lesson. Actually we had a few😉 but this one was pretty intense. If I were to declare that I needed to stop, rest, breathe, whatever, the instructor would not have an issue with it, but otherwise he’s going to keep things going until the horse needs a rest. A blog that got hijacked by a horse. Seeing plenty of the vet. So the vet’s been back and Drifter is officially lame in both back legs. When he is first trotted up his right is lamer, but as he warms up and does more that one eases and his left becomes worse. Conclusions at Almost 2 Months. July 30, 2015. She’s pretty much been a “yes mam” ride for them. Which brings me to a few conclusions as we approach the 2 month mark of her being out there. 1 There is nothing wrong with her brain. 2 This was a good decision. 3 It’s looking like the program we had her in all winter may have been what made her meltdown. I did a bit of cycling (I managed to clock up over 100 miles in this past week), been horse riding twice and bought a kick-ass pair of sandals.🙂.
