What gives it that bite during this process, as the root cells are crushed, volatile oils known as isothiocyanate are released. Vinegar stops this reaction and stabilizes the flavor. For milder horseradish, vinegar is added immediate. Did you know wasabi was made from the horseradish? So how was I gonna eat horseradish? 1 tbsp minced shallots. 2 tsp minced garlic.

Although I have said this a lot in the last two years! We used them in a cucumber salad topped with smoked salmon shavings. They can also make an amazing Salsa Verde! I love seeing a range of colour on my plate, it makes the whole process of eating a healthy dinner all that more appetizing. Purple broccoli rich in anthocyanins!
