Hours - Fall 2010. The PLC (Photonics Learning Center) is an opportunity available to students seeking help in photonics, optics and electromagnetics classes. The PLC is staffed by student volunteers who have successfully completed these courses. We help out with the following classes:. EE3090 - Geometerical and Wave Optics. EE3190 - Optical Sensing and Imaging. EE3290 - Lightwave Devices and Applications. EE3391 - Photonics Laboratory. EE4256 - Fourier Optics*. EE4257 - Digital Image Processing*.

Our student chapter history began in October 2008. As the photonics program at Michigan Tech was growing, Dr. Roggemann and Dr. Middlebrook agreed to advise the new student chapter. We collected a list of names, became an official campus organization, voted in our first officers and were finally approved as an official "SPIE Student Chapter.". 2009-2016 Michigan Tech SPIE Student Chapter spie@mtu.edu.
