Our Growers — Pine State Flowers
http://pinestateflowers.com/growers

Traditional flower shops offer specific arrangements (ie a dozen roses), and the unsold flowers get tossed. We don't use flower foam. And the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers. Below a...

Working with Amy to design our logo was a very exciting process for us. Amy really understood the feel we were trying to get and her design captured it perfectly. Now we have a logo we feel we can use for the rest of our lives, and we still get excited every time we see it! The whole process was fun, and we couldn't be happier with the final product. The Land at Hawkins Loop. 56 acres and a 40 year plan. January 24, 2014. January 24, 2014. Most of the odds and ends that we have discovered amongst the barns and houses has fallen squarely in the category of raw material — hand hewn timbers, three-legged chairs, buckets of old spark plugs, scores of bottles and jars, a moldy piano. We have become expert at quickly sorting through mountains of this stuff. January 19, 2014. March 9, 2014. Wednesday morning was foggy, no? New Year’s Notes. January 14, 2014.

The Land at Hawkins Loop. 56 acres and a 40 year plan. Merry Merry, Y’all. December 27, 2013. December 28, 2013. Brendan winced when I proposed this design. Nothing like putting an illustrated to-do list on your Christmas card: finish stripping the siding, replace the roof, clear out the scrubby landscaping, on and on… Poor guy. Too close to it all to see the tremendous progress he’s made in just six months. Here’s hoping everyone else sees what I do. On the eve of our fifth wedding anniversary.

The Land at Hawkins Loop. 56 acres and a 40 year plan. Everything Old Is New Again. June 3, 2014. July 24, 2014. A year later I moved into my loft at Bullington Warehouse. Two years after that I moved in with Brendan, and his impeccably curated collection of random stuff you or I might otherwise disregard, if we ever even noticed it in the first place. A few hours of scraping and some feet from the re-use center, and all of a sudden I’m beginning to see what Brendan saw this whole time. Rat Holes →.

I wonder sometimes–a lot, actually–how many modern-day marriages depend on text messaging as much as ours has these last few months as we’ve tried to cover the distance between the farm and the office, keeping tabs on childcare schedules and prenatal appointments and doing our best to feel like we’re in this together despite the fact that most days are spent hustling in different directions. Farewell to the Pack House.
