We are very proud of former Springs School student,. Erik Engstrom, who won a county title last year at the high school. Engstrom won the 1,600-meter race at the "Small Schools Indoor Track Championships" at Suffolk County Community. College in Brentwood. Engstrom crossed the finish line in a personal-best time of 4:27.38, well ahead of East Islip’s William. Reed, who finished in 4:41.26. Engstrom’s victory helped East Hampton finish 11th overall out of 23 teams —in fact, he was. Citizens of the Month.
