Stacey's Writing Moments. There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed. Ernest Hemingway. I am a 30 something mom turned writer. I love running, reading and a good laugh. I have published a couple of short stories. I created this space online to provide a home for my continued desire to write fiction or rather a place to dabble in the arts. Leave a Reply Cancel Reply. Will not be published)(required).

Stacey's Writing Moments. Her lithe body and waist-length hair stylishly done made her an unlikely candidate for a preschool teacher. She smiled as the children entered her classroom watching their bouncy 4-year-old bodies full of life and energy. They brought light to a life filled with darkness. Her eyes felt heavy from all the tears spent the previous . Read more →. Read more →. The long walk home. Read more →. Light in the dark. Stacey's Writing Moments. Laquo; Mirror, mirror. 18 Mar 2014 writing. I had just come to accept that my life would be ordinary when extraordinary things began to happen. I was standing in my kitchen, covered in flour with my toddler at my leg; ordinary in every sense of the word. 8220;May I help you? 8221; I asked, a bit baffled. What could this man possibly want? 8220;Are you Mrs. Murphy? 8221; His deep voice resonated with a thickness I will never forget. 8220;I am. What can I do for you? My mind spun&...

Stacey's Writing Moments. Light in the dark. The long walk home. Light in the dark. 11 Feb 2015 writing. She rolled down the window, allowing the wind to rush in bringing with it the smell of rain. With each turn, she allowed her body to sink further into the leather seat, feeling one with the car and subsequently the road. Climbing higher into the mountains with each turn took her further from her problems, giving her space. As she opened her eyes and once again gazed across the vast expanse before her,...

Stacey's Writing Moments. 3 Dec 2014 writing. She sat center stage, fingers resting on the ivory keys. She closed her eyes and absorbed the light from the single spotlight that lit only her and the glossy, black, grand piano. She sat rigid and tall, the way she had been taught. It felt natural, but she remembered the little girl who was constantly corrected by a strict teacher for slumping at the piano. And that would be tragic. She stared down at her aged fingers and let out a sigh. Not of sadness, ...

Mama Kat’s writing workshop. Stacey's Mothering Moments. Surviving motherhood one child at a time. It’s ok if you aren’t in love with motherhood. May 4, 2015. Lately, I’ve fallen somewhat out of love with motherhood. I’ve been at it for nearly 16 years and it isn’t the first time I’ve wanted to throw in the towel. It isn’t the first time I’ve wanted to throw my hands up in the air and yell, “I quit! It’s too damn hard! You know what I’ve discovered? Not being in love with motherhood doesn’t mean yo...

Mama Kat’s writing workshop. Stacey's Mothering Moments. Surviving motherhood one child at a time. May 28, 2015. There are inherent qualities that make any house feel like a home. We’ve settled in a bit in our current residence and I’ve noticed that some things are like calling cards. Evidence that you have reached our home in particular. I’ve given up. But at least I know I’m home. If you are attempting to hunt us down, we are at the very least easy to find. I’ve unpacked the necessary portion of ...

Mama Kat’s writing workshop. Stacey's Mothering Moments. Surviving motherhood one child at a time. Time: Jord Wood Watch Review. April 28, 2015. I don’t know about you, but before I became a mom, I didn’t really care what time it was. Which means it’s finally safe to wear jewelry again, so when Jord. Asked if I would review one of their stunning wood watches, I was all over it! First off, it’s way classier to look at my amazing watch than to pull out my cell phone for the one billionth time, get di...

Mama Kat’s writing workshop. Stacey's Mothering Moments. Surviving motherhood one child at a time. Book review: Lose the Cape. April 21, 2015. I don’t know about you, but from time to time I end up with SuperMom Syndrome. At least that’s what I call it. It’s that time when you think you have to do it all, know it all, have perfect children and hot meals three times a day. Then comes the crash and burn when you realize you can’t do it all. Mama Kat’s writing workshop. Stacey's Mothering Moments. Surviving motherhood one child at a time. July 22, 2015. I’m not going to lie. It was epic. Millions of miles. Nine people packed like sardines into what is normally a spacious extended van, made for some interesting memories. Our portable home for 17 days, came home smelly and fairly disgusting. Until the 16 hour drive home. That was epic in all the wrong ways. Like the crying child for 16 hours. I totally could have done without that. We had to t...

Mama Kat’s writing workshop. Stacey's Mothering Moments. Surviving motherhood one child at a time. Dear Little Man,. May 12, 2015. You are 4 years old now. For some reason it felt like a major milestone for me, for you. I know you are not little, even though you still need to snuggle with your Mama. I like to tease you about being a cat because of the way you nuzzle me these days. The blessing and curse of being the baby of a large family is that you are adored and annoying all at the same time. October 26, 2014. This slideshow requires JavaScript. But the Mark III is a lot of camera and, at upwards of $4K, it’s a professional model priced to generate revenue for it’s owner.
