Review: Viv Albertine’s Clothes, Clothes, Clothes. Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys. December 4, 2014. Posted by sjroby in Book reviews. Another Netgalley review written from a free advance copy. And this may be the best thing I’ve read out of the Netgalley freebies I’ve had so far. Recommended for old punks, for feminists, for women, for men. You can find some Slits and Viv Albertine videos on Youtube. Here’s one to start with: Confessions of a Milf. New Update - What kind of offense is Starbucking?

New Update - What kind of offense is Starbucking? Aug 12th, 2007 07:59 pm. Well, I fell yesterday while transferring to the wheelchair, I had to scream to wake up my Dad who was sleeping upstairs (7AM). He was unable to lift me and wound up going across the street to the cemetery where some men were working there clearing weeds and such. 2 of them lifted me up to my chair. How very embarrassing. Saw Die Hard 4.0 last night on the computer, it was good but I can't believe I didn't recognize Justin Lon...

Sep 1st, 2009 at 11:32 PM. Middot; G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra. And used it in the book as background filler. (This is like one author using his other nom de plume. To write a review of his own book….). I am not sure how the book stacks up against the movie- you will need to see me at. On Friday, August 7 to tell you this. I would recommend the book for anyone who is a G.I. Joe fan and wants to get more information about the movie…. Middot; Star Trek. Middot; Star Trek: The Next Generation- The Manga.

Review: Bowie on Bowie | The Fifteenth
https://thefifteenth.wordpress.com/2015/01/27/review-bowie-on-bowie
Review: Bowie on Bowie. January 27, 2015. Posted by sjroby in Book reviews. Another Netgalley free advance read in exchange for a review! A serious Bowie fan or scholar will still need a good, well-researched biography to learn more about the real David Bowie, as well as a book or two on the music. But this should really be part of the collection. No comments yet — be the first. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

Review: Daniel Handler’s We Are Pirates | The Fifteenth
https://thefifteenth.wordpress.com/2014/12/04/daniel-handlers-we-are-pirates
Review: Daniel Handler’s We Are Pirates. December 4, 2014. Posted by sjroby in Book reviews. Another Netgalley review. It’ll be interesting to see whether the January launch of Handler’s novel will be affected by his big dumb racist joke about black people and watermelons at a book awards event. Oh Did I like it? I think so, but give me more time to be sure. No comments yet — be the first. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

Review: The X-Files: Year Zero | The Fifteenth
https://thefifteenth.wordpress.com/2014/12/06/review-the-x-files-year-zero
Review: The X-Files: Year Zero. December 6, 2014. Posted by sjroby in Book reviews. Another Netgalley review, this time an IDW collection of X-Files comics written by Karl Kesel with art by Vic Mahlhotra and Greg Scott. Kind of an odd reading experience, this one. The modern day material has the feel of a classic X-Files standalone episode, with Mulder and Scully working a strange case, but its more modern touches — references to Google, etc — are a bit jarring. Review: The Dunfield Terror by William Meikle | The Fifteenth
https://thefifteenth.wordpress.com/2015/03/13/review-the-dunfield-terror-by-william-meikle
Review: The Dunfield Terror by William Meikle. March 13, 2015. Posted by sjroby in Book reviews. Another free Netgalley advance read! I read a lot of stories and novels that draw on the concepts and entities created in HP Lovecraft’s fiction. More to the point, I’ve read some of William Meikle’s short fiction in anthologies, though I can’t remember at the moment what I thought of them. But when this popped up on Netgalley I thought I’d give it a shot. No comments yet — be the first. Get every new po...

Review: Star Wars: Tarkin by James Luceno | The Fifteenth
https://thefifteenth.wordpress.com/2014/10/13/review-star-wars-tarkin-by-james-luceno
Review: Star Wars: Tarkin by James Luceno. October 13, 2014. Posted by sjroby in Book reviews. Another netgalley review, written in exchange for a free advance ecopy. Well, this is is a bit of an odd book. Is it a biography of a significant character from the first movie, or a novel? Is Tarkin a hero or a villain? And is this book’s existence as one of the new books that tie into the new continuity significant? Those rebels get some scenes from their perspective, but I never felt they were fleshed out as...
