http://stitchingalways.blogspot.com/2014/06/crochet-flowers.html

Hand Embroidery Always. Love to Stitch.Gotta Stitch. Monday, June 09, 2014. While looking into what stitching I can do. Once we go mobile later this year, I resurrected my limited crocheting skills. So here are a few of the little flowers. That have been appearing around the place. Ive used fine wools and crochet cottons and embroidery threads. A few have ended up on the Angel hats.but. Wait there's more ;). What to do with flowers when you obsessively stitch like I do. Oh wow seth. Im really chuffed.

Hand Embroidery Always. Love to Stitch.Gotta Stitch. Monday, February 17, 2014. Oodles of Colour.Hexagons Galore. Top is all done. A large single bed size. The quilting will go into the to-do pile ;). I love the intensity of the in-your-face colours. Doesn't it ooze warmth. Joyful and exuberant :). Labels: English Paper Piecing. I love all the orange you used! It is by far my favorite color, people seem to be so reluctant to put it on their blocks though. I love it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Eco Gardener: The Eco-City

http://ecogardenernz.blogspot.com/p/eco-city.html

The blog of Christine Dann, who has been gardening with Nature for over thirty years. Some reflections on doing an 'eco-retrofit' of New Zealand cities to make them more resilient, and hence better able to withstand short emergencies, and also the long emergency of water, food, oil and climate crises, which will all intensify in the twenty-first century. Re) Building an Eco-Resilient City. Means ecologically healthy and sustainable. The physical essentials of eco-resilience. An acute short emergency like...

One stitch at a time. Stitching alone and with others. A Comfort Blanket for the Earth. A Summers Dance with a Twist. Nalebinding – an Exploration. The Small Yellow Shawl. Future Thinking for Social Living. Nalebinding – an Exploration. During my research I came across a technique called ‘Nalebinding’. This technique, making fabric out of wool, was once used all over the world and predates knitting. Like with hand spinning, I was fascinated by a technique so ancient, it felt like a thread joining me thro...

Wild Picnic: Purslane (Portulaca oleracea)

http://wildpicnic.blogspot.com/2011/04/purslane-portulaca-oleracea.html

A gallery of edible and useful wild plants, in Wellington and the Wairarapa (NZ). Friday, April 8, 2011. We've just moved from Wellington to the lovely little Wairarapa town of Featherston - and I do believe it may be the Purslane Capital of the World. Back in Wellington I was excited when a lone purslane plant decided that of all the places in the neighbourhood it could sprout, it would choose my garden. I never found another in our vicinity. It has a sour, salty taste, like beach spinach. It's unusual ...

Future Thinking for Social Living. The Small Yellow Shawl. I went through a whole range of ideas about the shape of the final piece, which would be the document of all the fibre process and the time spend since Summer 2014. I had to realise that with singles one cannot knit straight, as the yarn has still a very alive twist in it. ...

STITCHING AGAIN

Sunday, July 19, 2015. Heather's quilt is finished, I completed the quilting and the binding is sewn in place. I tried a flange binding and it turned out beautifully. I will be using this machine binding on most of my quilts from now on. Started my 2015 Leader and Ender Challenge. My 1st tumble row. I like the layout of the tumble's in this picture and will mostly use it for my quilt. Block 27 and 15. I also finished lesson 9 of my Aim for Accuracy II. Blocks being joined in lesson 9. My Preciouses [Finished Quilts]. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I know I should just hop back into blogging like I was never gone, like it is totally normal. No biggie, here I am. I feel I need to say something. It is a journey, a journey full of sawdust and paint, inspections, rapid progress and then disappointing news. We are expecting to be living there in a couple of weeks (pinch me) and once we are there I will give you all a tour. My sewing room is going to be particularly epic. Yes, my friends I did.
