stories from the salt cellar

Stories from the salt cellar. My psychotic chicken little style rants and ramblings- while on the road to self reliance. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Cheap Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts! It is so hot here, I can not stop thinking about cold weather! Now when I say cold, I don't really mean. Just not 120 degrees. Preparedness and food storage take money, and we all know it is nice to save it when you can. I found some cool ideas and new blogs that I wanted to share with you. Monday, September 26, 2011.

stories from the salt cellar: whole wheat bread that is really whole wheat bread.

http://storiesfromthesaltcellar.blogspot.com/2011/08/whole-wheat-bread-that-is-really-whole.html

Stories from the salt cellar. My psychotic chicken little style rants and ramblings- while on the road to self reliance. Monday, August 1, 2011. Whole wheat bread that is really whole wheat bread. I keep seeing recipes for whole wheat bread that call for 1/2 white flour and 1/2 whole wheat. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but even I realize that does not make any sense. I have a recipe that I love. And I am going to share it:. 1 1/4 cup hot water (110-114 degrees). 1 1/4 tsp. salt. After the 10 mi...

My heart goes out to her family. my heart goes out the the other girls at church. they are so young, their faith and testimonies still growing. Remembering that this life is but for a short time. i need to appreciate those around me MORE.

stories from the salt cellar: storing perishables

Stories from the salt cellar. My psychotic chicken little style rants and ramblings- while on the road to self reliance. Monday, September 26, 2011. I love finding ways to store perishables. I like using my vacuum sealer's jar lid attachment. You just plug this little guy into the portal on the front of a vacuum sealer. (Not all sealers have the portal- so if you are going to buy one for this purpose, keep that in mind). BUT- I was wrong. (this is the first time that has happened). When times get tough b...

Stories from the salt cellar. My psychotic chicken little style rants and ramblings- while on the road to self reliance. Sunday, July 10, 2011. There was an old lady who swallowed a fly,. I don't know why she swallowed a fly. I think I know why. She hates flies, and wanted it out of her freaking kitchen! Bug repellents have been on my mind not just because of the flies that I hate, but I am also about to go camping with lots of mosquito's- which I hate also. Is a link on mosquito repellent. This. Seven Minuts to midnight...

Seven Minuts to midnight. All the stories begin the same but is only up to us how to end them.

Stories From the Scale

Stories From the Scale. Thursday, June 2, 2011. I'm down 5 pounds so far. Pretty darn good for eating whatever I want. Of course "what I want" is now different! Last night, all I could think about was having delicious salmon and salad for dinner. Really, that is what sounded like the perfect meal and that is, in fact, what I did have. Of course I am feeling guilty this morning.but not about what I ate but how much I paid for it! I paid $19.99 lb for wild-caught salmon last night. Yikes! I've found a loca...
