Fellow Traveler: Progress not Perfection
http://ftaca.blogspot.com/p/keep-track-of-your-progress.html
We suggest you keep track of what you do in recovery. On a bad day, you forget how far you've come. Give yourself little presents after you've attended six meetings, for example. The ACA text encourages us to take "gentleness breaks." We ACA's are very hard on ourselves. We can't emphasize it enough: Keep track of what you do. Reward yourself for each and every accomplishment. Read literature (buy ACA books here. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). We pass on the gift of recovery which was given to each us us.

Fellow Traveler: Work a Step
http://ftaca.blogspot.com/p/steps-and-reflections.html
Wrote these reflections/meditations based on the ACA 12 steps written by Tony A. That being said, we believe the writers of the ACA text incorporated the spirit of Tony A's steps into the chapters dealing with the steps, particularly steps 4, 8 and 9. The book makes it easy to work the steps gently and thoroughly- whichever version you decide to use. Admitted we were powerless over the effects of being raised in a alcoholic or dysfunctional home, that our lives had become unmanageable. I was suicidal whe...

Fellow Traveler: Find a Sponsor
http://ftaca.blogspot.com/p/find-sponsor.html
Sponsorship in ACA can be tricky. A lot of us have "fear of authority figures" issues. Not only are we afraid to get a sponsor, we are afraid to BE sponsors. I know it took me a long time to find someone who was willing to sponsor me. Here are some tips that might help:. Don't give up. We have a lot of recovery in ACA membership. Want to co-sponsor each other? Is another good ACA "line". Working through the steps with a partner is more effective than reading the steps alone at home. Take What You Like.
