Students who have a grade withheld and feel that are special circumstances involving the excessive absences are invited to send a written explanation to the Attendance Review Committee and request the grade be restored. Appeal forms can be picked up at the attendance window. Appeals should be made within the term immediately following the receipt of the No Grade (NG) by the given deadline.

Bell work is strongly encouraged in each classroom at Dixie High School. Bell work cannot be made up if the student is tardy or absent that day. If a student misses his/her bell work an e. Work that is missed in a class as a result of absences must be submitted in a timely manner, according to the teacher’s disclosure statement, usually no later than one week after the absence. Many teachers will not allow a student to hand in late work if the absence is unexcused. It is the student’s responsibility to get the absence excused in the allotted time so the work can be turned in.
