GROWN-UP GIRLS LIKE TO PLAY TOO! WELCOME TO MY PLAYGROUND. Friday, October 29, 2010. My project for today actually turned out to be two projects in one (sorry for such a long post)! It is my first real woodworking or building project completely from scratch. It's only a very simple bookcase, but it's something I needed and building it has given me the confidence to try my hand at woodworking again. Here's how it came together. First, I assembled my materials. Look, now I have (drumroll.) a large box!

Style de Bohême: Recycled Dresser Mirror
http://styledeboheme.blogspot.com/2010/10/recycled-dresser-mirror.html
GROWN-UP GIRLS LIKE TO PLAY TOO! WELCOME TO MY PLAYGROUND. Thursday, October 7, 2010. Work is underway in my guest/sewing room. I am finally reclaiming my lost space that had devolved into a storage heap! While doing some rearranging, I moved a dresser that formerly occupied that room to the living room. Since it was placed under a window, I couldn't use the mirror that had been on top. To start, I measured and cut the board to about eight inches longer than the length of the bottom edge of the mirror.

GROWN-UP GIRLS LIKE TO PLAY TOO! WELCOME TO MY PLAYGROUND. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. My Friend's House Part I. My dear and talented friend, Liz Snow has graciously allowed me to share a little photo tour of her beautiful home. Let's have a seat in the sunroom and chat for a while! I met Liz a few years ago when I stopped by her yard sale. Don't you love this old telephone! Let's move along and check out the living room. It is such a beautiful room! I wish my photography did it justice! But I think my ...

Style de Bohême: June 2010
http://styledeboheme.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
GROWN-UP GIRLS LIKE TO PLAY TOO! WELCOME TO MY PLAYGROUND. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Time for a Change. I've been putting ideas together for my decorating schemes, and came across a magazine that I LOVE! Soit was off to the Goodwill Store to buy a bulletin board that I could transform. This is my version. I painted the entire bulletin board white, and then to add a bit of dimension, I rubbed some gold paint into the recesses. Then the fun began! You can see in the photo below, that I've also found the pe...

Style de Bohême: Favorite Whites

GROWN-UP GIRLS LIKE TO PLAY TOO! WELCOME TO MY PLAYGROUND. Monday, November 8, 2010. This is part of the vignette that I arranged on the shelf of the recycled dresser mirror. That I posted about a short time back. It's quite simple.just an apothecary jar filled with seashells, a small architectural fragment and a little milk glass sugar bowl that has lost its lid. This rose is part of an arrangement in a large crystal vase.also on top of the piano. And a close-up of the thread. Isn't it funny how som...

Style de Bohême: August 2010
http://styledeboheme.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
GROWN-UP GIRLS LIKE TO PLAY TOO! WELCOME TO MY PLAYGROUND. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. You've just gotta love those wonderful little permanent markers known as "Sharpies". The worlds most popular marker even has its own blog. The creative use of Sharpie markers. Well, necessity being the mother of invention, I think I've discovered another one! Going on the assumption that the frame couldn't look much worse than it already did, I picked up the Sharpie and began to "paint" it with the marker. It worked surp...
