Life on the lane. Family, food, and fun! Wednesday, August 18, 2010. My little monkey is saying and doing new things all of the time, so I'm not sure why I was so tickled when I rounded the corner and found him doing this. Yes, the outlet has protective plugs in it). I could almost hear his thoughts, " Hmm. This is where I see Mommy plug it in! Perhaps I have a little helper in my future! Labels: Aiden plugging in steam mop. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This is a blog meant to journal my ramblings through life. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Love post #11 - Candles. This hurricane candle holder is made from beautiful pieces of cut glass. It reflects the candle light and makes it sparkle. See how the colors shine? This one is really cool. It has bubbles all through the glass. Apparently they put baking soda in the glass while it is hot to make the bubbles. This one sits in my front window. Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Love post #10 - A good storm. The pro...

I'm sitting at my desk fully aware that I have real work to do, but I've been a procrastinator my entire life. so here I am blogging instead. life on the lane: Tasty Tuesday: Caramelized Butternut Squash
http://lifeasalane.blogspot.com/2010/08/tasty-tuesday-caramelized-butternut.html
Life on the lane. Family, food, and fun! Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Tasty Tuesday: Caramelized Butternut Squash. I've seen it in the grocery store a thousand times. I've fed it to my son from a baby food jar plenty of times as well. I think most people, like me, have a fear of it and walk quickly by it as they peruse the produce section. I have not known what to do with it myself, until now! It's long, it's round, and it has seeds like a pumpkin.it's butternut squash! 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted.

Life on the lane. Family, food, and fun! Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Tasty Tuesday: Lemon Butter Tilapia with Basil. I consider myself a pretty good cook, but sometimes I still surprise myself with how yummy something I make tastes. Last night I was looking to make a quick dinner. We had spent the day swimming at my in-laws' home and by the time we got back to our house it was dinner time and the boy was super cranky. I decided that I wasn't doing anything in the kitchen until Adam put Aiden. Melt the butter ...

Life on the lane. Family, food, and fun! Sunday, July 6, 2008. I spent some time doing more home improvements this past week. Life on the lane. Family, food, and fun! Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Playing Catch Up and Tasty Tuesday: Banana Bread. Wow, I've been quite the neglectful blogger lately! July has been a busy, semi-irritating month here at the Lane house. Since my last blog entry we went up to New Jersey to celebrate Aiden's first birthday with my side of the family. What a great day! Now that we're both better we've been catching up with friends, celebrating other birthdays (Adam's and my friend Megan's. 3/4 cup brown sugar.

Life on the lane. Family, food, and fun! Tuesday, August 26, 2008. In other news, today was the first day of school in the district I teach in. I've been asking myself where the summer went, but I guess I really did accomplish a lot with all of my house projects, taking to classes, and doing about three weeks of traveling between FL, NJ, and AK. I was expected today to be a really bad day, but praise the Lord it turned out to go more smoothly than I thought it would! I know, I'm pathetic.). I have to adm...

life on the lane: April 2010
http://lifeasalane.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Life on the lane. Family, food, and fun! Monday, April 26, 2010. I've been watching a lot of PBS Kids lately. More than I thought I'd be watching with a 10 month old. No, we don't sit in front of the TV all day, but our morning consists of floor play while we watch (some of) Sesame Street, Curious George, or (sometimes) Martha Speaks. I usually DVR. One or more of these shows so that we can watch them later in the day, but we always watch one thing: Elmo's World. The boy loves his Elmo! I will be turning...
