The Expeditions of Team E: October 2009

http://www.susie-ernsting.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

The Expeditions of Team E. A little bit of everything that goes on with the Ernstings! Wednesday, October 14, 2009. NS Half Marathon Race Report. This Thanksgiving weekend was the third annual North Shore Half Marathon. And the first half marathon race for me in 6 years. The last half marathon I ran was the 2003 Hogeye Half Marathon in Fayetteville, Arkansas! I didn't really have a goal in mind when the race started but I knew that a PB was possible. I have been doing some great training with Steph.

The Expeditions of Team E. A little bit of everything that goes on with the Ernstings! Friday, September 24, 2010. Ironman Canada - Race Report. Completing an Ironman has always been a goal of mine. I am not sure when I got the idea that this might be “fun” but I knew it was something that I would do one day. After cheering on all my friends at IMC 2009, I stood in line, paid my $600 and decided that I would dedicate the next year to train for IMC. Mark getting my bike ready for the "big day! The Expeditions of Team E. A little bit of everything that goes on with the Ernstings! Sunday, November 1, 2009. My New Home for the Winter. Our first summer in Vancouver I got back on my road bike and started to get back in the pool teaching Mark how to swim. We also started running together and found that between the two of us, we had 2/3 of a great triathlon! However, the main focus for me throughout the winter is this (my new home):. My goal will be to get on the bike 2-3 times a week and work throug...

Table of Four: July 2013

http://peggylposts.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 6, 2013. Last week Reese hit the 3 month mark. She is one happy girl and will give you some of the best smiles, she just melts my heart. She has discovered her hands, and I believe she will take after her brother and be a finger sucker. On several occasions she has put herself to sleep by sucking on them. I'm so glad she is able to self sooth. At times I also find her chewing on her fingers, I sure hope we're not starting the teething process already. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Table of Four: August 2010

http://peggylposts.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 31, 2010. A good friend from high school got married to a wonderful guy earlier this August. Since their wedding was to be held in Laramie, WY (home of the University of Wyoming.Go Pokes! We decided to make a trip out of it. I plan to blog about the wedding in another post. Abby and I flew home for two weeks, Grant luckily was able to get time off to fly out for the wedding which was in the middle of the trip. Lisa and Abby are checking out a life size T-Rex. After the wedding and saying ...

We met Grant at Noodles, along with Jill, Ricky, and Sue (Grant's mom), who is visiting for the week. After eating delicious food we ended the night with a Rick's cake (Raspberry Ganache Cake- yum). Rainy Runs: January 2011

http://rainyruns.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 20, 2011. Graeme and I have been talking about learning to cross country ski for some time now. A few people had told us about the Learn to Skate Ski package at Cypress Mountain, which is 5 progressive lessons, over 5 weeks and they sounded really good. Luckily for us, Cypress is close to home and easily accessible on a weeknight. Tuesday nights also happens to be when a local race series takes place and it is fun to watch those guys! Maybe with another year (or few) or practice! With b...

Rainy Runs: AST-1

http://rainyruns.blogspot.com/2011/01/ast-1.html

Sunday, January 16, 2011. With backcountry skiing you can never be too prepared or too educated. Graeme and the people we ski with have all done avalanche training and continue to take courses. In general they won't go with anyone who hasn't. I've done some basic training with them and have attended some talks on recognizing snow conditions, but I needed to take the avalanche safety training myself. I don't think I have ever been as wet as I was today. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Rainy Runs: Embracing Winter

http://rainyruns.blogspot.com/2011/02/embracing-winter.html

Monday, February 28, 2011. Luckily the expected winter snow hasn’t really materialized, but this past week we did have real snow. Between that and the cold and the rain, I have had enough of weekday trainer riding to want to do that on the weekend too. With a snowy weekend on tap, we decided to make the most of it. Of course, it's Monday and the snow is quickly melting away. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Fun reading (and fun people). A Clearing on NoMoSolo.

Rainy Runs: November 2010

http://rainyruns.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Then twice a week, then once a week, and now I'm at once every 10 - 14 days or so. But still not running. In the past month I have been able to incorporate the trainer, at a moderate effort, some swimming (really recently), and some hiking. The first few attempts weren't great, but its getting better. Rainy Runs: February 2010

http://rainyruns.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Olympics in the City! Well, it was a crazy, busy few weeks in the city of Vancouver! I don't think any of us really knew what to expect or knew that it would turn out the way it did. People in the streets at all times of the day and night, whopping it up. On top of that there were the houses of various countries and free events galore. There was way more to do then one could get done in a couple weeks. Speedy Peterson and the Hurricane! Saturday, February 13, 2010. I left wor...

Rainy Runs: September 2010

http://rainyruns.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 3, 2010. Last weekend we headed up to Penticton for Ironman Canada to volunteer and cheer on friends. We left work at 3. Traffic was awful getting out of Vancouver. Almost 2.5 hours to Chiliwack! After the group finished riding the course, a bunch of us went for lunch on Lakeshore and then walked over to the expo and wandered for a while. The Hammer truck was out with samples, and I tried the melon Heed and actually really liked it. I will try using that next summer. After our volunteer...

Daughter of the king

We walk through our lives and on our journey we encounter potholes (the underground ones) and they are often full of water which means that we must trust God, hold our breath and dive in. My problem has often been that I would not trust and so I would belly flop on to the water instead of taking the plunge and find myself bruised and stranded. I wrote my auto-biography; Potholes and Belly-flops. What do you do when your past rises up and bites you on the backside? The journeys I have accompanied people o...
